Quinn's POV
"So, we have to go back to high school?"
"Yes, Quinn, we have to go back to high school. Dad said so, weren't you paying any attention to his talk with us yesterday? Geez, sis, one of these days you're gonna get yourself in trouble because of that pride and stubbornness of yours," my brother, Luke, said, shaking his head.
"I can handle myself just fine, Luke. I've been handling myself fine for a long time now, I don't need you being my second father," I shrugged at him, flipping my bangs away from my eyes.
"Would you both quit arguing for two seconds, please, it's giving me a headache," my younger brother Aaron groaned, coming down the stairs into the living room where Luke was perched on the edge of the couch ready to go, and I was standing in front of the large mirror on the wall trying to figure out what to do with my hair.
I'd been messing with my hair for almost ten minutes waiting for Aaron, and when he came downstairs I just gave up and left it down.
"Finally," Luke said, standing up and walking towards the front door. "What the heck took you so long?"
"Dude. I had to fix my hair. You know this," Aaron replied, with a 'duh' expression plastered all over his face.
Both Luke and I groaned loudly at the same time.
"Just get your butt out the door, supermodel," Luke said with a completely straight face as he opened the door, although there was a hint of humor behind his eyes.
I grabbed my bag and walked out the door after Aaron, while Luke closed and locked the door behind us. Aaron beat me to the front seat in Luke's Jeep, so I sat in the back. Luke hopped into the driver's seat and started the car, pulling out of the long driveway in front of our giant new house. Well, not really new, just untouched for a long time.
Almost twenty minutes later we pulled up in front of the town high school. It was huge. Three floors, two different buildings, windows everywhere. I could see the edge of a football field, a baseball field, a soccer field, and a building that looked like it had a pool in it.
"Wow," Aaron said, climbing out of the car. "This is a pretty high class high school."
"Well yeah, it's one of the best schools in the mid west, what did you expect?" I replied sarcastically.
"I don't know," Aaron replied, hopping out of the front seat.
"That was a rhetorical question, dummy," Luke said before I had a chance to say anything.
"Anyway, are we putting on our traditional show?" I asked
"What traditional show?" Aaron asked.
"The one where we walk in the double doors of a school one by one, and dramatically walk down the hallways like we own the place," Luke, once again, answered for me.
"Oohh, that traditional show," Aaron replied dumbly. "Who's first?"
Both Luke and me looked at him, and he looked back at us. When he caught our meaning he groaned.
"Why me," he muttered, then slung his backpack over his shoulders and walked towards the front doors of the main school building.
"Will he ever grow up?" I asked Luke, leaning against the front bumper of the white Jeep and watching Aaron slump towards the the school.
"I have no idea," Luke replied. "Probably never."
"I heard that!" Aaron called back to us.
"Bro, stand up straight and add a little flare to it!" I called to him. "Impress them!"
"Sure!" He called again. "Whatever."
He threw the double doors open and strutted through them. Then Luke looked at me, and I looked at him, and there was a moment of silence when he sighed. "Fine, I'll go next."
The corners of my mouth twitched up a bit, and I saw the right corner of Luke's twitch up a small bit before he grabbed his backpack and walked into the school.
I stayed behind for a few minutes, wishing that I didn't have to go in, but I did. So I grabbed my bag, slung it over my shoulder, walked over to the doors into the building, and shoved them open; plastering a small smirk on my face and working it down the hallway.
As I walked down the hallway, everybody stopped all motion and stared at me, especially the guys. Many girls that were there stared out of jealousy, and the guys stared because of everything else.
I attempted to hold back a grin, and it didn't work so well, so I just smirked in stead.
