"Thank you," the young man in front of her said as he watched the leaves dance to whatever tune in his head. The girl smiled happily, glad she helped him figure out his true potential, what his ability does, and what he wants to do.
"I guess this is goodbye then," he said, still not facing her as the cool comforting chill that once surrounded the area stilled and the leaves fell to the ground. Returning to their lifeless stage.
"It's not goodbye," she said finally, her voice traveling silently into his head "Life doesn't allow you to say goodbye unless death is involved. I'll come back in a few years.."
"Goodbye would be easier though" he responded finally facing the girl whose hair looked like the sky at dusk. "Promise me something... The next person you help... Can you... Can they be the one who saves you and not the other way around?"
She only smiled sadly as she slowly started to fade out of view with a gust of wind trying to make her stay.
Where she appeared next was a cell with a girl no older than eight. And whose hair was only growing more wild with flames as she tried so hard to escape the three inch by three inch cage.
