Marinette's POV-

I woke up before my alarm for once this morning. The sky was still dark and the streets were quiet, the only sound you could hear was my parents getting everything ready in the bakery.

"Tikki... are you awake?" I whispered and carefully sat up in case she was sleeping near me "guess not"

I went down my ladder and sat in my small table under my bed, the table where I neatly had all sketching notebooks I owned.

'This needs more green, I'll need to buy some green thread on my way back from school, I could add a hoodie... nah'

I spent the rest of my time finishing my sketch for a black leather jacket, a letter jacket that was going to be a present for a certain cat.

"Marinette, honey it- oh you're already awake!" Maman exclaimed and lowered my trapdoor "make sure to hurry up and come eat breakfast before heading to school" I herd her voice coming from the other side of the trapdoor.

"I'll be right down!"

———

"Marinette something is not right" Tikkis voice that was once squeaky was now hoarse and low "Tikki!" I rushed over to my bed and delicately held her in my hands.

"I have to find Master Fu" she croaked our "I'll take you— no you need to go to school I can manage myself" she cut me off mid sentence "no 'buts', Master Fu isn't as far away as you think"

"I'll going to have to trust you this time," I said while taking a cookie from a jar in my desk "just make sure you eat up and leave once you feel a bit better"

Once setting her in my pillow along with another cookie I grabbed my jacket and backpack, along with some extra money so I could stop by the store on my way back.

"Goodbye Tikki, see you later" I whispered and walked down the stairs into the bakery.

"Good morning maman, papá" both my parents greeted me with a kiss on either sides of my cheeks and a pat on my head. "Here I packed you some extra croissants for your friends" papa smiled and ushered me out the store.

"Now don't be late"

———

Adrien was absent today.

And even though he wasn't here today a black cat with beautiful green eyes managed to brighten up my mood when I was on my way to the store.

Funny thing was that that small cat reminded me of a certain someone with green emerald eyes.

"Go on little guy, go back to your home" I crouched down and gently petted it's head. I waited for a minute yet the cat still sat in front of me, still staring at me straight in the eyes.

"You don't have one do you? I guess you can come home with me" I ended up carrying the cat back to the bakery and through the front door.

"And who is this cute little fur ball?" Maman asked while petting the cats head. "He? She? Umm..." maman scratched the cats belly and the cat stretched in my arms.

"It's a 'he'" she laughed.

"Oh well he doesn't have a home and I wanted to keep him until I could find a good home"

"He can stay as long as he needs too, what are you going to name him?" Papa asked popping out of nowhere.

"Chat! I'll name him Chat" I replied in a heartbeat.

"That's a lovely name Marie, now hurry upstairs" I kissed both my parents in their cheeks and ran upstairs.

"Okay Chat how about we start by making you a collar? Or maybe your own bed? You're probably hungry aren't you?" I kept on rambling until a small tap on my window snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Tikki!" I exclaimed and ran towards the window. "Marinette!"

"Are you feeling better?" She hummed in agreement and twirled around "Master Fu told me that it was a common virus among the kwami's, it apparently affected the owners of the miraculous by shifting them into their spirit animals"

After Tikki was done explaining I went to pick up Chat, he seemed tense for some reason. "Tikki meet Chat, Chat meet Tikki"

Tikki sat on Chats head and scratched behind his ear "now how about we get started on the collar?" I asked and sat Chat on my desk chair.

———

"And done!" I exclaimed while stretching out the 'a'. "How does it look?" I asked both Chat and Tikki.

I had received a 'meow' in return from Chat and Tikki rummaged around my drawer until she found a small bell. "Perfect!"

I slid it on and watched as Chat shook his head a bit to make the bell 'jingle'. "How about I go make some food and I'll be right back, do you want some chocolate cookies or double chocolate cookies, Tikki?"

"Double chocolate please! Marinette!" She exclaimed and her eyes lit up at the mention of her favorite pastry. "Coming right up!" I laughed and went downstairs into the bakery to grab a couple of cookies.

"Okay now what should I get Chat?" I asked myself and looked around the pantry. "Tuna! Cats like tuna!"

After making myself some sandwiches and serving the tuna in a small bowl for Chat, I made my way up my room only to stop dead in my tracks when I saw a blond boy looking at both Tikki and a floating black cat in shock.

"A-Adrien?" I stuttered and set the food down in my desk "is that a K-kwami?" I stuttered yet again.

"Yeah he's mine..." he trailed off.

Then realization hit both of us like a truck. . . . .

"CHAT!?!"

"M'LADY!?!"
