Xx Aph's pov xX

I didn't want to be there anymore. I didn't want to be anywhere near ivy, but that guy from earlier just had to appear out of no where. There is no way I'm gonna deal with that. "Hey, i ne-" I looked at him and walked past him starting on the path to my house. The sun was setting and a soft breeze blew as I walked. It was soothing nonetheless, but I was too...salty.. to embrace it. Ivy tried to run after me but she lost her breath and fell back after running a short time.

Luckily, to my surprise, Gene drove up to me. "Need some help with your escape there,Aph?" I smiled and immediately got into the passenger's side of the car. I was so glad Gene was there when I needed him. Sometimes I wonder if he just knows when I need to be saved, almost like a knight in shining armor. Yes, he was my knight in shining armor, my savior, my prince, my love. But I don't know if he think the same.. That I'm his princess, his love. But then what if he doesn't think of me like that.

For some reason thinking about this just set me off.. I could tell in the look in gene's eyes that i saw in the reflection of the window as I stared out of it that Gene was worried about me. I saw the sadness and concern fill the deepest parts of his eyes. But this didn't stop the thoughts that filled my head.. thoughts like, "what if Gene never really loved me?", "What if Gene doesn't want to go out with me?", "Even though it's obvious we love each other, why hasn't one of us asked the other out?" just... why?

Xx Gene's POV xX

Something is wrong with Aph, it's obvious. She rarely just looks out the window without smiling at something in her sight, she would've realized that we've already made it to her house, she would've looked at me the countless times I've called out to her in the past 5 minutes.. her eyes would be sparkling. Something about the normal glimmer of her stunning hazel eyes was different, they didn't glimmer, they were dull, blank slaps tinted with amber. Her eyes only consumed with sadness and pain. That much I could tell..she's lost in her thought. This isn't good..

This never happens..ever! Somehow I could feel her pain, somehow.. I desired for her to be happy, for her not to be this way. There is no way I'm just gonna let her get consumed in her thoughts if they are making her this way.. I reached over and gently shook Aph.. Not response, not even a movement. Quickly, I embraced her in my arms, holding her tightly, not wanting to let go. She snapped out of it, I could tell. I felt her smile into my neck as she hugged me back and I could tell that she was relieved.

I couldn't help but think about what was going on in her mind, what she was thinking about as i hugged her. Pulling away, I looked her in the eyes and smiles but then asked, "Aph, what were you thinking about..?" It was silent for a moment and she brushed the hair out of my face and began to speak, "Gene, do you love me?" I looked at her and smiled. "Of course." Aphmau looked down to her lap. "Would you go out with me if I asked..?" Chuckling softly, I responded. "Definitely." Aphmau looked a little stunned for a moment.

i was so happy that I could squeeze a million sea bunnies to death just by picking them up. For some reason I wasn't expecting Gene to respond the way he did. It made me go silent for a minute or so. "Would you go out with me then?" Gene smiled brightly and it made me smile just as bright. "Yes. I will." Honestly it feels like I just purposed to Gene. I hugged him tightly then kissed his cheek lightly. "Well I should go inside! We're having tacos!" I got out of the car and walked inside.

Mom looked at me and smiled. "You seem happy." I ran up to Mom and hugged her, squealing. "MOM MOM I ASKED GENE OUT AND HE SAID YUSSS" She giggled and looked at me. "He's a good guy, I'm proud of you!" I squealed then ran up to my room to wait for dinner to arrive...

I couldn't help it.. I followed her to her house. Her beautiful midnight black hair,hazel eyes,baked skin.. She was beautiful in every aspect.. except one. She wasn't like me. She was human..
