"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
"Watch it Lana. You don't want your customers to run away, do you? From the foul language you're using?"
"No I don't. But why are you here? Last time I saw you, you were on the ferry, heading back to Everett."
"Well, things change. And I wanted to see you," he said while taking a step closer, making her back up.
"WHY? You left me! You left when I needed you most! Don't touch me!" Josh tried to grab her hand that was on the counter. Lana took a big breath. "Listen, I don't want to talk here. Not when people can hear us or when my customers can run away."
"Great! I'll pick you up at 7 on Friday. Do you still live in the same house?"
"Yes. Wait, what?" Lana said with a surprised expression.
"I just asked you out and you agreed. Okay!" he said with a relaxed expression. "See you Friday!" He yelled while walking out the door, before Lana could change the plans.
"Janie!" Lana yelled. Janie peeked her head out from behind the back.
"Yes?"
"Did I just agree to a date with him?"
"Yes you did."
"Did you hear every word of that?"
"Yes."
"Good. I'm going to need to remember some things by Friday."
Walking onto the beach, wrapped in a brown cover with sandals and shorts Lana heads over to the fire. A big orange glow on the waters edge, that lights up the beach for miles. Michael and Janie were sitting on the log, already making out. Bree was playing with her curly brown hair, twisting it as she talks to a tall, dark-haired Bryan Adams. Sitting on a log, they scoot closer, and closer to each other. Finally close enough that she is basically sitting on his lap.
Lana just stares from the shadows. She walks away from the shadows and towards the sea. With the full moon out tonight the ocean was a pretty site. The waves crashing along the sad as they crawl over her feet. She closes her eyes and just feels the water. The ocean. The life inside of the sea.
Being stuck in her day dream she doesn't hear as someone comes up behind her, until they rest their hand on her shoulder. Her eyes open instantly, and she slowly turns around until she is looking into some chocolate eyes.
She gives him a shy smile. "You found me."
"Well, you did say that I had to look. And I did." He gives her a smile back.
"So how did you manage to find us?" She asked while raising an eyebrow.
"Well, this is an island. So I parked and walked. Pretty simple."
"How long did you walk?"
"About an hour."
"Wow, no one has ever done that before."
"What walked an hour on the beach? I think people do that all the time."
"No walk an hour on the beach for me."
"Well, I am honored to be the first one."
"Thanks," she said while glancing behind him at Bree, who was now making out with Bryan. "Do you wanna walk a little more?"
"Why not. I got all night."
They walked slowly together. Staying close to the water, not saying a word. It was a comforting quiet. Not awkward or weird at all. It was a happy quiet. As they walked they got closer, their chemistry heating up. There was no doubt in her mind that she was attracted to this boy.
