The sun shining through her room hit her like a brick. She wasn't ready for the day, for this day in particular. Friday.
She walked out into the morning light in her pajamas and Nan at her heels. She closed her eyes and felt the morning sun on her skin. She left the door open as she walked back into the house.
She put on the coffee and went to take a shower. Over, she braided her still damp hair and went to get dressed. A pair of skinny jeans and a white shirt would suffice for today. Picking out her black flats she went into the kitchen.
Pouring the coffee she turned on the water for oatmeal. Waiting for the water to boil she went to the door way of their room. Watching her kids sleep made her at peace. They were happy and safe from the harm the world would bring them. Right now they were in a peaceful slumber.
She walked over and woke Wesley up. He looked up at Lana with sleep still in his eyes. Staring into her eyes. He got up and got dressed and left while Lana helped Parker get up. After Parker got her clothes on, Wesley came in and said the water was done.
So as Lana went to get the oatmeal done Wesley helped Parker with her shoes and getting into her wheelchair. They went out into the dinning room and ate their food. After about 20 minutes they headed to the car and they all sat in the front seat.
"Mom..." Wesley broke the silence they have had all morning.
"Yes Honey?"
"What are we doing tonight?"
"Well, you guys are going to go over to Aunt Bree's and I'm going to go out with an old friend."
"Oh, okay."
"Did you want to do something else?"
"Well," he sighed. "I was hopping to go see Uncle Andy tonight, but I guess we don't have too."
"Honey, your going to see you uncle first thing in the morning. He does visit you know."
"Really?" Both Wesley and Parker said at the same time.
"Yeah, really. He's coming first thing in the morning."
"Is Aunt Mel coming also?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't she. In fact they have some big news for us."
"Yay!" They said as they pulled into the school parking lot.
Lana smiled to herself and got out of the car. She got the wheelchair while Wesley got the bags.
"Wes, why don't you go ahead. I can manage." Lana told him.
"Okay Mom!" He put Parkers bag down and put his own on and took off running toward the playground.
"Okay Honey, you ready to go?"
"Yeah Mommy."
"What's wrong Baby?" Lana said as she wheeled Parker towards the building.
"Why does Wes never get any time to himself?"
"What do you mean?" Lana asked slowing the chair down a little.
"Well he is always around me and plays with me and we even share a room. But I don't think he likes it."
"Why would you say that?"
"Because he always stares at the boys when they play, but he always stays by me."
"Well, do you wanna know a secret? Something that you cant tell him."
"Uh-huh, what is it Mommy?"
"Well, you two are getting your own rooms. We are all going to paint the guest room purple and it will be your own. You will both have your own space. Do you like that?"
