Pinick-up ko yung call.
"Baby?" sabi ni Kath.
"Kath? Ano? Bakit ka tumawag? You know naman na-" she cut me off.
"Nasa gitna ka ng taping. I know. But this is important."
"Important? And my work is not?"
"I didn't say that!"
"Can't this wait until I get home?"
"No! I-I have to talk to you. Now."
"DJ! Magiistart ka na in 1 minute!" sabi ni Direk.

Then biglang may humikbi. Nanlaki mata ko then narealize ko mali ko.

"Ok lang. Go to your work. Mas importante naman yun diba?"

Ginulo ko yung buhok ko sa frustration. Aish!

"Hello?"
"Hello. Mr. Padilla? This is the police."
"Sir?" taka kong reply.
"Your fiancee is in the .......hospital."
That was the thing he can only say. Naghung up ako tapos sumakay ng kotse at pinaandar. 5 minutes later nakadating na agad ako. Hinanap ko agad si Kath. Nung dumating ako sa room niya. Magkausap yung doctor at police officer.
"Sir? Yung fiancee ko po?"
"Ah. Mr. Padilla. She's fine."
"Ano po nangyari sir?"
"Pagkatapos niyang ibaba yung phone may bumanga sakanya from the side."
"Is she okay?!"
"She's fine. But."
"But?"
"Mr. Padilla. What did Ms. Bernardo say before she hang up?"
"She said..."
'Important......'
'I have to talk to you..........'
"I'm sorry, Mr. Padilla but your baby didn't survive." the doctor said. Naiyak ako. Kasi ang tanga tanga ko!
Pumasok ako sa kwarto ni Kath. Nakahiga siya nakatingin sa window.
"Kath."
lumingon siya sa akin at nakita kong umiiyak siya.
"DJ."
I hugged her and we cried together.
"I'm so sorry." sabi ko.
"It's okay. There's a second chance. Okay?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I kissed her in the forehead and promised nothing will ever happen to my baby ever again. Nothing. Even if it costs my life.

Tumayo ako and tumakbo agad kay DJ.

Dinilat niya yung mata niya.
"Yung babies?"
"They're fine."

"I'm ok."
"PLEASE DJ! Don't leave meee! Why did you do that? WHY!?"
Nagsmile siya sakin.
"I promised didn't I? I won't make the *cough* same mistake I did last time. Nothing will ever happen to my babies again. Even if it costs my life!"
"BAKIT MO TINOTOO!?! HAAA?!! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! Diba sabi mo ikaw ang magsesend sakanila sa school? Hatid sundo diba? Tapos bantay sarado ka sakanila? Diba? No boyfriends allowed diba? Bakit aalis ka na?"
Nagpatuloy lang ako sa pagiyak.
"Shhh. I love you. All of you."
"We love you too."
Nakayuko lang ako waiting for his reply which will always be 'I know.' pero wala. Hindi siya sumagot.
"NOOOOOO!!!!!"
and there I cried beside my lifeless husband clinging to him with all the energy I have

Because he, i believe, is DJ's reincarnation.
