Fionn stared at the two big main front doors in front of him. He opens his mouth to say something but nothing comes out.
"This will be good for you, you know?" His mother startles him. He turns towards her and raises his brow. She reaches forward and puts her arm around him.
"It will I promise, you'll meet new people who are feeling the same way and you'll forget everything happened, then we can carry on as a normal family like we were before, this just needs to happen for a few months like it said on the sheet" she tells him. But he doesn't listen to her words. He's more worried at the fact that there's probably people in there who knew him beforehand and they'll judge him.
"Anyway, I've got to get to work, ring me if you need anything, I'll pick you up at 7 like promised, I love you Fionn, never forget that" she kisses his cheek and walks towards the car. He doesn't face her, he's still staring blankly at the big doors.
Once he hears his mothers car leave the car park, he runs in a different direction out of sight, that is until he bumps into someone.
"Ooph!" He yelps falling to the ground.
"Jesus young man I'm so sorry!" A man says stretching his arm out to help Fionn up, once back on his feet he dusts away dirt from his clothes.
"No sorry, it's my fault I wasn't looking where I was going" he smiles sympathetically.
"Hmm, you must be Fionn" Fionn looks up at the man confusion setting upon his face. The man notices his confusion and chuckles.
"I'm doctor jones, you may call me Mark, your mother told me to watch out for you if you ran away, she gave me details on what you look like, glasses, rolled jeans showing socks, scruffy adidas shoes, yep that's you" he sticks his hand out. Fionn slowly shakes his hand and lets go after a few seconds.
"She told you that did she" a scowl sets upon Fionn's face at this. Of fucking course she did he thought.
"Anyway let's get you inside" Mark says swinging his arm around Fionn's shoulder leading him towards the entrance.
Once inside the building, Fionn takes the opportunity to look around. He notices there's bits of wood falling apart off the old doors and windows, he smells a musty smell that smells like paint. He doesn't like it one bit.
"This is it, through these big doors are 5 other people who have similar problems to yours, but don't worry, we're not here to judge, we're here to simply help you in anyway we can" Mark gives Fionn a reassuring smile after seeing the discomfort on Fionn's face.
Mark pushes the big doors open and a gust of wind hits them. Fionn stands at the door looking around before settling his eyes on the 4 people, someone must be missing. He notices 3 lads in which two of them are blonde and one with brown hair but streaks of blonde run through them, what is this? The 90s? He thought, and a girl with ginger hair and with big black combat boots who looked older than 25.
He hesitantly takes a few steps forward when he notices Mark waving him over to take a seat on the plastic white chairs set out in a circle. He walks and sits next to the brown haired lad. Fionn doesn't expect it when the lads hand connects with his shoulder.
"Hi I'm Danny, you must be Fionn" he notices at first that he's Welsh. Fionn nods and looks away.
"Right shall we get started then?.." just as Mark starts to talk the big doors slam open. Fionn whips his head towards them and his eyes go wide, that's when he felt it. He felt his heart stop at the sight. He felt the whole world slow down like it was out of some film.
A small girl who looks his age walks in, a book clutched to her chest, her wavy brown hair flowing as if she was walking along a beach. Her brown eyes were bright and the way her light freckles laid themselves across the bridge of her nose was astonishing. The way she was wearing that blue denim jacket and low black doc martens made Fionn's heart explode. He also noticed she wore small hoop earrings and a band tshirt which looked like the smiths. He was in awe of her.
Then he was snapped back to reality by Mark saying her name.
"Ahh, Daisy, finally you're here, please take a seat" Daisy, he thought, beautiful.
She took a seat next to the ginger girl and laid her book across her lap. Fionn couldn't stop staring so when she looked up and caught him, he was blushing madly he had to look down.
Once he had looked back up after a few minutes, she was slightly smiling at him.
He wanted to get to know this girl, she's his cure.
