The second I walked into the warehouse, my heart dropped as I saw Alex and Lorna still tied to the pillar. I saw a frayed edge of the rope held in one of Lorna's hands, but from Killer Frost's point of view it was probably hidden. Even in the dim light, I saw a gleam of the knife I had handed Lorna earlier. Lorna shot me an almost apologetic look as Killer Frost noticed what was on the ground in front of the tied up couple as she approached them. "What the hell is this?" She asked, kicking the knife away from them and towards me.

"Uhm, I-"

"I didn't know this one had something on her," Killer Frost cut me off, fisting a hand in Lorna's hair, forcing her to look up. "And to think I would've let you guys go."

"What the hell do you mean? We had a deal!" I argued, stunned into action.

"Deals change, kid," Killer Frost replied, her hand moving from Lorna's hair to gripping her chin, forcing her head from side to side, as if she were inspecting her. "If only you had behaved and waited, then I wouldn't be forced to hurt you."

"Don't fucking touch her," I yelled, hands balling into fists at my sides. I know I had a problem with saying 'fight me' to everyone and that I'd eventually get decked, but this time I was actually ready to fight. It would be risky if I tried fighting her, but if my death meant saving the lives of my friends, then I would die a hundred times over. Killer Frost turned her head to look at me, forcing Lorna's head to face me with her. Her eyes seemed icier than normal, no pun intended. Lorna's face was now filled with fear, the first time she seemed scared since they had been revealed to me.

"What did you just say?" She hissed, standing as she released Lorna's face. She then stalked towards me, seething. From behind her, I could see Lorna shuffling slightly. Alex had schooled his face into a calm facade, so I knew something was happening over there. I focused back on Killer Frost, knowing I would need to distract her for even a few minutes to give them even the smallest chance to get out of there. "You need to calm-"

"Calm?! You kidnapped innocents to try and get me to cooperate! And now that I'm cooperating, you say that you're gonna kill them anyways? What kind of bullshit is that?!" I yelled, getting louder as her voice dropped to deadly lows. I was playing a dangerous game, and if the Sirens saw what I was doing, they'd kill me before Killer Frost even had the chance to.

"Who the hell do you think you're talking to? I don't think you understand what I'm capable of, kid," she seethed. She was close to bursting, and I could see that Lorna and Alex had loosened the rope just enough to be able to wiggle out of rather quickly if her attention was turned back to them. It would take only a few more minutes to guarantee their safety at the cost of mine, so I did what I do best: I annoyed her.

"Yeah, you're not exactly low-key! You guys out there fucking love your dramatics, no wonder you get caught so often," I taunted. "That's one thing I have over you, I've never gotten caught. No one knows who I really am, not even you." Her eyes narrowed even further, the room temperature dropping as she began using her powers. There were wisps of blue beginning to gather around her clenched fists, small ice crystals glinting even in the dim light. With enough force behind those, it'd be enough to pierce my skin and possibly even my vitals. It was one of her favorite killing methods, besides freezing someone. "That kills you inside, doesn't it? Not knowing who my family is, how you can really hurt me."

"I know enough about you to track you down if you even think about crossing me," Killer Frost threatened, stepping towards me. I stood my ground, letting her approach me. "Need I remind you that I know every one of your friends? I can start by killing these two." She didn't even look over her shoulder, just nodding her head towards them. She was too cocky for her own good. I could tell she was confident in her powers and criminal abilities, but every now and then a bit of caution was definitely a good thing, especially for villains.
