We landed with a soft thud, and a dramatic puff of purple smoke.
Outside of our veil, I could hear startled cries, and next to me, Robin was sending commands to the outside group through the communicator.
The smoke was beginning to clear, and from the obscured view, I could see Jeremy's dark hair and glaring eyes, and I glared back.
"Hello, Dear," I smirked. "Did you miss me?"
His glare didn't fade as he charged, pushing Katarina to the ground. My eyes widened slightly and had to dodge out of the way so i didn't get hit.
Seth gave a pathetic battle cry, and after Katarina hit him, he ran to the crowd, slugging at everything that moved.
Jeremy ignored this, however, and ran at me again, this time catching me by the throat, and slamming me to the ground.
"What were you thinking?" he smirked. "Did you honestly think this would get me to stop looking for you? Hon, you're much too valuable."
A dark shadow passed over us, and we both looked up to see Damien grab Jeremy by the hair, and yank him up. Claire was there in a second, and punched him square in the jaw.
Behind my siblings, a wolf was being thrown towards us, and I dove to grab my family out of the way.
When the wolf landed, I realized it was Cole, and rushed over to make sure he was okay. Halfway towards him, a snarling grey wolf that I had never seen before landed in front of me, and I stumbled back, before regaining my footing and attacking.
"No!" I heard, and Jeremy landed in front of me again. "She's mine."
"You always were possessive," I chided. Why hadn't he turned yet? He never waited this long.
"Well, it's not everyday you come across a smart blonde from the 1600's," he smirked, and I glared.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the Titans taking on a vamp and werewolf. My siblings were surrounded by other vampires. Seth and Katarina were back to back, lunging and casting spells.
My friends and family. This was all because of me. If I lost any of them, I would have no one to blame but myself.
"Jeremy, I'm going to kill you," I swore, and charged.
Since he wasn't in his wolf form, he was slower and weaker. But we had sparred in our time together and knew my weak points as I knew his.
He dodged a kick to the head while I narrowly missed a fist to the gut. He tried to flip me, but I twisted so that I landed in a crouch.
"You've improved," he laughed, as I fell back from the force of a punch. "But you should know, I went easy on you all those years."
"That was fun and games then," I snarled, glancing at Robin who had knocked a witch unconscious. "I have reason now."
"Oh, I noticed," he grunted as I flung him to the ground. "Tell me, do they know of all the deaths you're responsible for? Three hundred years is a long time. And I am curious - how did you plan to get rid of our witches? Iris - you remember her, the sexy red head? - told me how to take out her kind. It's a spell. Say a few chants, and it takes down every witch within a 10 mile radius. Including the caster."
"Who cares?" I spat, ducking a blow.
"There's no way to control it, Love," he chuckled. "Every witch. Your witches, my witches. Whoever casts the spell not only commits murder, but suicide as well."
My eyes widened as they traveled to Katarina who was still back to back with Seth.
Surely there was another way? Katarina couldn't do that. Seth would forbid it. Heck, he'd kill her before she got the chance.
Arms wrapped around my neck, and a needle pressed against my throat. I gasped in shock, and felt Jeremy's chest rumble as he laughed. It was loud and booming, the kind that sent chills down a lions spine. It stopped everyone in their tracks, and even the Fangs looked confused.
"You know what's in this syringe?" he asked loudly, staring coldly at the group of supernatural creatures and the Titans. "No one move, or we find out."
I attempted to struggle, but his hold on me tightened, the needle pressing against my skin.
"Let her go," a voice called from the crowd, and my eyes found Robin, who held his staff menacingly.
"Asking humans to help?" Jeremy laughed. "You must be truly desperate."
"You have me, leave them alone," I spat.
"Well, I would," Jeremy said, his lips brushing against my ear. "But you see, three of my persons have gone behind my back and betrayed me. All these creatures have come to fight me. And these humans... what kind of leader would I be if I didn't feed my people?"
I reached back to elbow him, but the needle plunged into me.
The liquid was cold, and I froze up, gasping for breath. I felt the blood running through me freeze, and I couldn't blink.
And then it was fire. I screamed, clawing at my neck, as the flames passed through my body. I saw red, but couldn't focus. I could hear screams and cries, but other than sounds, the world was disappearing around me.
I was falling, but I couldn't tell if it was up or down.
And then it was all shut off. Darkness surrounded me, and I couldn't move. I don't even think I was breathing.
And then my memories made themselves known. I saw the eyes of every victim, every person I fed on. I watched as my parents were killed, but my siblings and I saved. The night in London all those years ago when Jeremy found me and welcomed us into the Fangs. Three hundred years worth of thought and actions rushed through my minds eye, all within a few minutes. Or maybe it was a few hours? Seconds, even?
Noises surrounded me, but it all made no sense. Colors flashed, and the death toll continued.
I hated myself. That was me who took their life. I deprived children from their parents, and parents from their children. I was a monster. I deserved this pain. I deserved more. Why wasn't I dead yet? The pain was unbearable - maybe I was dead. Maybe this was death for vampires.
Forced to see all the lifeless faces of those we made suffer. Forced to suffer with them, to feel their pain and grief.
But then, I saw the faces of my friends. All those I had helped in those few years I had escaped from the Fangs.
The Titans flashed before my eyes. Cyborg, Starfire, Beastboy, Raven, and finally, Robin. The ball, on the night I first met them, and how I helped defeat Charlie. Gizmo, Jinx and Mammoth.
Damien and Clair. She needed me. Both of them did. We were just reunited, and now I was being torn away from them?
And Seth was right. I did have feelings for Robin. I may have even fallen for him.
The pain was still there, but I fought against it. I began to thrash, to kick, to scream. I stuggled to breathe, but forced the air into my lungs anyway. My eyelids weighed a hundred tons, but I fought through the haze, fighting with every ounce of strength I had.
I pushed against the water, and fought for what felt like days. And maybe it was.

I'M BACK~
And I'm driving back. Because I got my license. Today. An hour ago.
But anyway, it's summer, so you know what that means? No school, which means faster updates and no valid excuses (except for vacations, of course). But hey, as I said on Twitter last night, double update, so WWC3 will be updated pretty soon.
And, you'll never believe it, but I already have the next chapter of this almost finished. But (watch this, you'll hate me), I won't update it for a couple of days. I don't want to update back to back, because that sets too high of standards for me. But ey, here's an update ;P
