Even though Joey tried not to, he always caught himself staring at Daniel. Doing so, he ended up dropping his salad all over his pants. By accident, of course.
"I see you staring at me." Daniel said, causing Joey's heart to race.
"I- uh-" Joey mumbled, trying to think of a believable excuse. Daniel chuckled and gave Joey a warm smile.
"Don't worry about it, J. I know you can't help it. I mean, I'm hot as hell."
Joey laughed. "I mean, I guess you're right."
The boy's hearts started speeding up, neither of them wanting it to stop. This felt right. They felt like they were meant to be here, together. Slowly, but surely, Joey was falling in love with Daniel, and vice versa.
"Can I tell you something?" Joey asked, his eyes looking down at his shoes. Daniel nodded. "Mhm, go ahead."
The older boy took a shaky breath. "I, um, I want to make this thing official."
Daniel titled his head. "Make what official?"
"Us."
