Epilogue

5 years later

Grayson smiles as I place a bowl of cereal in front of him. His curly blond hair, perfectly combed. Ava and the twins, already eating theirs.

Today is Grayson's first day of kindergarten. The twins are going to 3rd grade. I'm dropping them off at their school, then going to Ava's school to drop her off on her first day of 8th grade. Hopefully her 8th grade year goes better than mine.

Emma is a Junior at the University of Florida, which, thankfully, isn't too far away. It turns out, she's really good at softball, and got a full scholarship there.

As for me, I got emancipated when I was 17. A decision that I have yet to regret. I'm currently taking online college courses. I'm studying engineering.

Skylar is a Sophomore at the University of Florida. She's studying journalism.

About a year ago, Kyle was arrested for robbing a grocery store. He's currently serving a 6 year sentence.

We're all still staying with Becky. Except Emma. Becky still works at the supermarket. I've been looking into apartments for me and Grayson. I've found one near here that I'm going to check out today after I drop off the kids at school.

Most people would be disappointed if their lives turned out like this, but if I could do my life over again, I wouldn't change a thing.
