Nicolette's P.O.V:
It was midnight, and I needed ice cream. I threw the blanket off of myself and tiptoed downstairs. As you peek in the fridge, you remember that you mother ate the last little bit of chocolate ice cream before she went to bed.
What do you do?
I could go to the store down the street. So I pulled on my jacket and shoes, stuffed my keys and ten bucks in my pocket, and headed out. The street wasn't dark; light radiated from the passing mansions. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I live in a classy, upscale neighbor. My father owned a large chain of department stores, and my mother was a well known designer and model.
Twenty minutes later, I reached a tiny corner store. The bell dinged when I opened the door. The man at the counter watched me as I walked to the back of the store and pulled out a pint of chocolate and fudge chunk ice cream, then brought it up to the counter. I got ringed up.
"$2.75," The man said. I pulled the money out of my pocket and handed it to him. "Thank you. Do you need a bag?" I shook my head, "All right then. Be careful out there, there are a lot of scary people walking the streets at this hour."
"I will. Thank you." I walked out of the door and back to the dark street. I was in a rough part of town, and a lot of the street lights were busted, which made it really dark. As I went along, I heard footsteps behind me, but you could hardly hear them. I stopped moving, and listened very carefully. The footsteps stopped too. Slowly, I turned around. There was a boy, that looked about my age, standing there, watching me. He had black hair, and pale skin due to the moonlight. Even in the dark, I could see his bright green eyes.
And I stood there, just watching him. He was watching me too. But, then he slowly turned away from me and walked away.
Who was he? Why was he watching me?

The next morning, I got ready for school like I always did; eyeliner, mascara, and straighten my blonde-and-black hair. Then I sat down at the kitchen table and pushed the cereal in my bowl around with my spoon. I couldn't stop thinking about the boy. He had haunted my dreams. I kept seeing his face, his eyes looking at me. I wanted so badly to know who he was.
"Oh crap!" I yelped and hopped up. I was going to be late for school! I shrugged into my jacket and grabbed my backpack, then jumped in my car. As I was driving, I saw someone fly by me on a skateboard. I also saw an old lady watering flowers, and a bunch of people jogging.
The bell rang right as I got out of my car. I sprinted down the halls toward my class. When I finally got to the room, I shoved open the door and crept in.
Then stopped.
There, standing right next to Mr. Klein, was a boy. The same boy I had seen the night before. He wasn't looking at me, but I could see that he was tense, and his fists were balled up.
I wobbled to my seat, feeling eyes on me. He was here. In my class. But he wasn't looking at me. What was going on?
After class, I turned to the mystery boy I had seen the night before. I would just say hello. He was watching me with a cold look in his eyes. I felt my greeting stick in my throat. I don't know how long we stood there. He glared at me, and I glared back. I had been willing to be nice to him, but he was just being a jerk. Mr. Klein must have noticed we were standing in the middle of his class, because he walked over and told me I should probably show Nathan around.
"Thanks, but I'm good." He mumbled before he grabbed his bookbag and walked out the door. So that was how it would be, eh? Well, two could play that game.
Nathan's P.O.V:
The girl was sweet. I knew she was going to be nice to me, but in order to complete the mission succesfully, I had to disconect myself from my emotions.
But it was hard when she was so... cute. With her blonde and black hair, and grayish-blue eyes, it was very hard. But I was here for a reason, and not even the most beautiful girl would make me fail. I vowed that as I grabbed my backpack and bolted out of the room.
The rest of the day went well. And then the last bell rang, and I knew that was my cue. It was time.
Nicolette's P.O.V:
I walked out to my car after the last bell, throwing my bag in the backseat and throwning myself into the car. I turned the key, and the engine started up. But then I saw Nathan walk up to my window and tap on the glass. I pushed the button and the window rolled down. You gotta love technolgy.
"What do you want?" I asked curtly.
He bit his lip, "I- uh, need a ride."
"What?" I asked, bewildered. "How did you get here this morning?"
"My mom dropped me off, but I don't have a car, or ride a bus." He explained this as he twisted his thumbs around.
"Oh... okay. Okay get in." Nathan smiled and got in the passenger seat. This would be good, maybe he would be nice. That's what I kept telling the uneasy feeling in my stomach as we pulled out of the parking lot.
I'm such a liar.
