Annie's POV
"Oh hey Hayden what are you doing here" I said while nervously looking back at Kenzie
"Oh this is just my favourite ice cream place I go here all the time, how about you" he said with his cute smile once again. I couldn't help but smile back. Come on Annie keep it together. He has a girlfriend. "Oh i'm just here with Kenzie and Johnny. I heard you guys are friends?" I said to him "Well ya...but we stopped hanging out as much. I'm still friends with everyone but I don't think Johnny likes me very much" he said while looking down kicking his foot back and forth. "Oh well Johnny has been my bestfriend before I even moved here I'm sure I could talk to him" He instantly smiled. Shoot Annie. What did you just do. I didn't want to get his hopes up. "Well anyways Annie do you mind sitting together?" he asked while still smiling. I couldn't resist his cute face. "Sure just let me check with Kenzie and Johnny" I walked over to their table. "Hey guys so Hayden just asked me to sit with him and i'm kinda third wheeling with you guys so can I-" I got cut off with Kenzie saying yes in excitement. "Annie you better talk to Hayden about the girlfriend situation now so it doesn't seem like you're on a date" Johnny said. "Ok I'll try. See ya later love birds" I laughed while walking back over to Hayden where he already had payed for my ice cream. "You didn't have to do that" I said "It's ok I wanted to" He pulled out my chair and we sat down. We talked for awhile then I realized I should probably bring up the girlfriend situation. "So you never told me you had a girlfriend" I said and I immediately regretted it because his face shot up and eyes widened. "Oh- y-ya sorry um I forgot" he said looking pretty nervous. "You forgot you had a girlfriend?" I said and slightly laughed. "Well no it's just that I was having a great time with you in class today which I never do considering it's class and here, I didn't want to ruin it by saying that. It's just you're different Annie. I like talking to you. I could talk to you for hours without getting bored. There hasn't been a dull moment yet. My girlfriend just is so controlling and stressful and always talks about herself and makes me do things only she wants to do and I just forget about it when I can" Wow I never thought he would say that. "Hayden that means a lot to me. I just moved here and i'm glad I met such great friends like you and Kenzie and Johnny and everyone else. It really is great talking to you. I feel like I could talk to you forever. I could never really do that with anyone except-" suddenly a tear came down my face. "Annie, it's ok I know what you mean" Hayden said while rubbing my arm. I wiped off my tear. I can't believe it. I found someone that I can talk to when I needed like when Caleb was there. I loved Johnny of course but it wasn't the same. Finally we left the ice cream place and Johnny and Kenzie went home and Hayden walked me home. "Is this your house? Hayden asked "Ya why?" I replied "Because that's mine" he said while pointing to the one two houses down. "No way that's so cool" I said in excitement. I was really happy he lived next door. "Hey can I walk you to school tomorrow?" Hayden asked. "Well I usually walk with Johnny but maybe you guys can figure things out" I replied. "Alright I'll text you see ya Anns" he walked off to his house. "Later Hay" I walked back to my house. What a great first day I thought.
