.........................................................
Hello young fellows! A WHOLE FREAKING NEW CHAPTER. *gives myself a high five* Thanks to everyone who is actually reading this. I know it's not fun reading this crap but I'm glad you are!

Cookie time!! 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

When they got back to Elijah's office, he informed Stoney of all the responsibilities she would have as Lily's guard. It took a couple hours to get everything settled. When they had finished, Elijah sent Stoney home to pack while they prepared dinner for later. She would be moving in tomorrow.

Fortunately for Lily, Elijah likes to cook without a shirt. She offered to help him, but he shooed her away and insisted he had it handled. She took this time to sit on a stool and just watch him flex. Several times she had to bite her lip to keep from purring. All she wanted to do was rub against him like a cat, but she knew if that happened they'd never make dinner. After a while, she got bored, so she started up a conversation.

"Why didn't you mark me last night at the ball?" The more she thought about it, the more insecure she became. Am I not attractive enough for him or something? She wondered, watching him pause and face her with a gentle smile.

"It would've been too impersonal. Trust me, it was almost impossible to hold back, but I managed to reign in my wolf just enough. I wanted to know you first," he explained, edging closer to the table that was between them.

"And do you? Know me?" She was sure he didn't. They just met yesterday after all. But she guessed with wolves there's an instant connection. You don't know why, but you feel like you've known your mate since the moment your eyes met.

He grabbed Lily's hands in his own and rubbed them soothingly. "I know you get nervous when meeting someone new, and you blush at compliments and pretty much anytime someone says something nice to you. I know you crave adventure, but sometimes you're scared of what could happen. I know even though you're adorably small in my eyes, you make up for it with your big heart. I know you'll be a great Luna, and that I'll love you forever." He leaned over and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. She stood quickly and ran around to the other side of the table, wrapping him in a tight hug. They didn't say anything, just held each other until they heard the ding of the door bell. Lily jumped in surprise and hid behind Elijah. His wolf growled at who he thought was an intruder but who Elijah knew were his Gammas.

"It's okay, little one. It's only Matthew and Katrina, my Gammas. They won't hurt you." Lily nodded uncertainly, rooting herself to the floor when he told her to wait while he let them in. He picked up a random shirt off a chair and threw it on before going to the door. As soon as Elijah opened the door loud, boisterous voices reached her ears.

"Ow! Matt! Stop shoving me! It won't get you in any faster! Don't glare at me you little sh—Alpha! Hi! How are you?" A female voice stammered in embarrassment. Lily didn't like a she-wolf so close to her mate but decided to ignore it.

"Seriously, guys? Can you even go five minutes without fighting?" Elijah sighed in exasperation, but Lily could detect a hint of amusement in his words. She crept to the edge of the kitchen and peered around the corner. The male Gamma was lanky but still lean with muscle, and he gave her mate a friendly handshake.

"How was the trip? I can't wait to meet the little lady that stole your heart." He teased. Lily couldn't see Elijah's expression, but the Gamma's frown gave her a pretty good idea.
