"He's not important anymore, Elijah, I promise." He looked doubtful so Lily reached up and kissed his nose, then his forehead, his cheeks, before finally landing on his lips. He smiled after she pulled away and glanced at the clock.

Without warning he lifted her into his arms and started carrying her like a child. "Time for bed, little one." She pouted and poked his chin.

"I can't believe you invited them over just to kick them out," Lily muttered playfully.

He grunted. "Yeah, well, that's what happens when I get pissed off. They know exactly how dangerous I am when I'm angry. They're probably happy they got to get out of there."

She hesitated, thinking carefully about how to say her next words. "So, uh....your Beta....he's a little rough around the edges, isn't he?"

Elijah scoffed and set her down on his bed before removing her shoes. It was quiet as he grabbed her some pajamas and dressed her in them. Once he got in bed, Lily curled up against him and sighed in content.

"Weston is a good warrior, and believe it or not, a good friend. My dad was actually the one who chose him to be Beta. I didn't totally agree with his choice because Weston has pretty bad anger issues, but I respected his decision. As long as he keeps in line, he'll keep his position." He explained.

"Now that I think about it, he does seem like a good Beta for you. All tough and broody," she joked.

Elijah scoffed and tapped her on the head. "I am not broody." He defended.

Lily giggled. "Oh come on! You are so broody!"

"Whatever," he grumbled, pulling her into his chest and shutting his eyes.

She smiled at his defeat and closed her eyes. It only took her a few minutes to drift off to sleep.

"Rise and shine Luna! Skies predict a warm, sunny day ahead of us. But you can't enjoy it if you're asleep!" The constant knocking of knuckles on the door was grating against Lily's ears. She groaned and forced herself out of the warmth of the bed, noting that Elijah's side was empty and cold. He's been gone at least an hour. She dragged her feet over to the door and whipped it open to see a grinning Katrina.

"Hey Luna! Lovely to see you again. Clearly you aren't a morning person, but I'm gonna need you to get showered and dressed and all that hoo hah so we can go." She ordered. Lily crossed her arms and huffed.

"Would you like to come in, Princess?" She asked sarcastically.

Katrina looked at Lily like she'd grown a few heads. "Are you serious? Hell no! I'm not getting skinned alive by that Alpha mate of yours!" She shuddered.

"You're friends..." she pointed out. Lily wasn't happy about it, but it was true.

"Not when it comes to you we're not. Now stomp that booty over to the bathroom and shower. Opal's waiting. Oh, by the way, Stoney can't make it, sorry." She said, bouncing in excitement.

She huffed in disappointment but a smile slipped onto her face. "Okay. I'll be ready to go in a little bit."

"I'll be waiting," she winked and took off down the hall.

Once Lily had finished with everything she met up with Katrina downstairs.

"Where's Elijah?" Lily asked.
