Flashback..

She was putting her suitcase in her dad's car when Zach, her brother, and I pulled up.

"You all packed and ready to go Luce?" I asked.

"Um yeah, Wes, I think so" she sounded nervous.

"Lucy, don't be-"

"I'm not nervous. People need to stop telling me that I am." She's angry now. Oops, my bad. Oh well if she wants to get mad about people telling he she's going to have fun, she can just do that.

"Whatever. Anyways I just came by to give you a gift for your trip."

"Wesley, it's not just a trip. I'm going to study in England with a program for young, culture seekin-"

"Whatever it is, I got you something to tag along with you." I replied.

"Is it a dog?" Lucy sounded just as genuine as she'll ever be. If I didn't know her any better I would've believed her, however, I do know her so I saw flicker of sarcasm in her eyes.

"No, smartie, it's not a dog," I handed her the box with wrapping paper covering it, "open it and see."

I saw her fingers slide over the paper, getting ready to rip. As she did this, I turned around to look for her brothers. I found her oldest brother, Brandon, with his wife of only a few weeks. Matthew was typing on his computer with Charlie sitting beside him pointing to the screen and asking questions. Those two are so alike despite the age difference. Jody, the baby, was in Mrs. Kay's arms asleep. James was bouncing a basketball while Zachary gave him pointers on shooting.

I heard a squeal of excitement and turned toward Lucy with a smile on my face. "You like it?" I asked.

"Like it? I love it!" she exclaimed "but this camera had to be expensive." Photography had been a hobby of mine since I was 13 and I've bought so many cameras since then the store I bought hers from gave me discount.

"It's nothing special, I just thought you could take pictures of everything you see in England." I shrugged

Lucy ran up to me gave me a huge bear hug and peeked me on the cheek. "Thank you so much, Cowboy" I rolled my eyes.

"Cowboy? you're still on that?" when Lucy was about five she told me my name, Wesley, was western and therefore I was a cowboy. Ever since then, my nickname was Cowboy.

"Come on sweetheart, it's time to go." Mr. Kay, Lucy's father, told her.

"Alright Dad. Okay boys, come give me a hug before I leave." one by one I saw each brother give her hug and whisper something in her ear. Finally, after everybody has given their hugs Lucy smiled, waved, then jumped into her dad's truck. They backed out of the driveway and made their way to the airport.
