"Good morning turd face."
Wow. Great way to be greeted first thing in the morning.
I rolled my eyes at my annoying older brother as he walked into the kitchen, yawning and opened the fridge.
Spencer laughed. "Come on Lyds. I don't need the sass this morning." He said and poured himself a bowl of cereal then sat down next to me. I smirked at him and he just rolled his eyes.
"You're really that worried about the new kid, Spence?" I asked, tilting my head at him and taking a sip of my coffee.
Spencer and I recently found out about a new kid from California that will be joining our hockey team this week. I am not too worried about it because I'm just the boring manager so it doesn't affect me much, but I have heard he's really good and I may or may not have done some digging that proves he's good at hockey and extremely good looking. However, Spencer doesn't see the good in having this new kid on our team. He's only threatened by it because it's his senior year and he doesn't want to give up his star position on the team.
"I'm really worried. He can't take my spot." He sighed and buried his head in his hands. "If that happens, I don't know what I'll do."
"Drop out of school?" I suggested and smirked and expected to be punched in the arm. Instead Spencer lifted his head and narrowed his eyes at me.
"Funny." Was all he said as I got up from my spot at the center island in our kitchen and put my empty cup in the sink.
"I'll see you at school Spence." I laughed, making my way to the door, slipping on my white vans.
"Wow, you're so eager to learn that you're going to school this early?" He laughed. "I always knew you were a nerd." Spencer grinned and took another bite of his cereal. He's always made fun of me for liking school. It's not my fault I got the smart genes, and he didn't.
I rolled my eyes at him and a smile snuck its way onto my lips. "I'm going to go get a quick skate in before class." I said. Ever since our school cut the girls hockey team last year, I've been so eager to get back out on the ice. Now that they finally opened the rink back up for the season, I am planning on being in there every morning before school. It's my happy place. It's where I go to forget about everything around me and just focus on the game I love. Hockey.
