The lights flickered to life.
"Finally." I here Callum mutter.
"Yeah." Was all the energy I could muster to agree.
"Hey, kitty, could you do something for me?"
"Uh sure I guess. What is it?"
"Either let me win, or rub my back." Callum said, nodding in the direction of the Mario Kart he had chosen before the black out.
"Hahahahahahahaha how bout no."
I stop when I see his face. "Oh stop pouting I'll rub your back."
"Damn..." Callum whispered under his breath.
"You know, I read this article- a bit higher-" Callum started saying.
"Yeah?"
"And it said that- yessss- soulmates smell better."
"Mhmm, and?"
"It said that it smells like something specific. For example- that's the spot- in a world full of daffodils you find a gardenia."
"You are bringing this up because?"
"I don't know. It also said sometimes it starts off normal, but then something will trigger it."
"Oh, and you want me to trigger yours?" I smirked as I rubbed circles in the small of his back.
"Uh uh no, I just thought you- you'd like to know!" He said stammering.

He started to whine when I stopped.
"Awwwww over already?" Callum complained, sticking out his bottom lip.
"Mhm it's time for bed."
"What but it's only... Oh... so will I be sleeping here tonight?"
"Yes, but not in the guest bed, my dad had to borrow it for a fishing trip with his friends."
"So where will I sleep?"
"You'll be..." I pause and state quickly before I continue "you get no points for this because it's too easy."
He frowns.
"You'll be sleeping with me."
His eyes twinkle like knives before I give him the 'no points' look.
"Is that the best idea?"
"I wasn't planning on that. You- we'll have to get by that."

We started to get under the covers, having already changed into pyjamas.
"I have a question."
"Another one?" Callum blinks answering me.
"What do you do when you don't have suppressants? I don't mean all omegas just you."
Even though the room was dim I could see him blush.

"Well, you remember that gift Lester gave me."
"You kept that?" I questioned remembering the lewd object gifted by an old friend.
"Yeah, he knew I was an omega somehow."

We lay in silence before he scooted closer to me and whispered in my ear.
"I'm little spoon and you can't stop me." Then he wrapped himself in my arms.

"It's ironic isn't it?" I whispered grinning.
"What is?" He replied yawning.
"The lights come back but we turn them off."
"Heh, that is a little funny." Callum replies breathily.
"Goodnight Callum."
"G'night kitty or Dylan or whatever."
Before drifting off to sleep I smiled, it wasn't that big but I smiled. For the first time in a long time I was content.
