Draco sat on the curb. It was he 19th birthday today. His dad didn't care. Is that why he was kicked out of the house? Is that why he was sitting on a dirty curb on his birthday, alone? When it was raining? He sighed, hugging himself to try to stay warm in the freezing rain. The lamppost next to him was out. Suddenly, the light flickered.
"Huh? What was that?" He looked up at the lamppost, noticing her beautiful straight pole. Her warm light floated down onto him, and he stared up, trapped in a few moments of pure bliss. "Must be a wizard."
A voice came out of nowhere. "I'm not a wizard. By the way, my name is Martha?"
"Wait, who are you, where are you?"
"I'm right here silly."
Draco, stood up, his arms hugging his chest harder as his looked around. "Not really specific enough, Martha."
"I'm standing right next to you. Also, it's very rude not to introduce yourself when a lady introduces herself."
Draco looked left and right, before his eyes slowly rested on the beauty that is the lamppost next to him.
"You're a... a lamppost? That's a little obsurd..." Draco said with a scoff.
"Obsurd? You are one rude little twat!" Martha snapped.
"Hey! I've never heard of a talking lamppost! Besides, you said you weren't a wizard."
"I'm not!"
"Then why on earth can you talk?"
"Because I happen to be a magic fucking lamp. Why do you think?"
Draco started to grin. "You are one heartless bitch."
Martha chuckled in return, which was a soft, tinkling sound. "And you're one stupid cunt."
Draco bid her farewell, before walking off in the rain. Maybe it was just a little bit, but know he was feeling better. At least someone noticed him today.
