'ghost'  (Gohst)

noun

1)the soul of a dead person, a disembodied spirit imagined, usually as a vague, shadowy or evanescent form, as wandering among or haunting living persons.

2)The discarnate soul of a deceased human being still occupying the physical realm.

3)A demon or angel

4)A mere shadow or semblance

No one believes in ghosts, I myself Don't but I have learned something about my job, that all the souls that I have lost have a name, if they are not alive then what are they?

Ghosts that's what they are, it's somehow unrealistic to me, but still a mere voice inside me is telling me it's true, and day by day in this hospital I am starting to believe such words.

how about Death?

how is it like?

I can't even imagine it, or want to, because I have promised myself as long as I shall live, That I will never give up on a soul as long as it has a chance to live, and follow what my heart says

that's why I'm good at what I do

but still, to think about Death and that one day it will knock on my door and take me, somehow frightens me but still can excite me at some point.

"Rose!"

I turned around to look at Mark as he skipped towards me, snapping me out of my thoughts

"Got a shift tonight?" he said out of breathe

"Yeah, I have got a few patients to take care of, why?" I ask as My full attention turns to him

"Oh.." he said as he rubbed the back of his neck, "Nothing, I was just wondering if--"

"Hey Guys!" Marissa interrupted us, "How are you?" she asked

"I'm great, I'm actually about to go check on 260" Mark replied turning his gaze to me, "So I guess I'll see you later."

"Okay." I simply reply

as he turned to walk away Marissa pulled me by my arm away, "what was that?" she spoke

"I have no idea." I simply say

I am Rose Anderson, a heart surgeon--specialist--you may say, at Marion's health care in New York City, The city that never sleeps, the city that has risked the lives of so many souls, All I ever wanted to do was become a Doctor to only help people, to save lives.

I am used to walk in the hallways of the Emergency room, to be the first one there if something wrong it going to happen, you can see me any where but that's because I'm a lonely person where I don't fit in with people or talk too much either.

"So, You have a night shift?" Marissa asked

I nod, "yeah, figured I should take it since I'm sick of spending the night at home with the walls." I say

she chuckled, "You're unbelievable Rose, did I ever tell you that?"

"You just did."

"well you can drop out, and come and have a drink with me."
