I decided to go into the TV room.
I grabbed a chair and sat in front of the fish tank. I watched each little one swimming around the tank in the crystal clear water so carelessly and freely. Those fish don't need to worry about a thing. They don't need to worry about money or work. They don't need to worry about daily routines like what they're going to do each day. They have everything they need or need done, done for them. But they can't do things like humans can. Like I can. They can't enjoy going out to see a movie or enjoy cuddling up to their husband in bed on a cold night. They can't enjoy hanging out with friends while going shopping and taking a nice walk through the woods. They can't enjoy spending some time with just themselves whilst watching the stars on a cloudless night.
You can't enjoy life without going through some rough times. That's what Jumin and I have learned over these past months. Actually, I wonder what our friends have been up to lately.
"Lauren...? Lauren!?" I heard a voice called out to me.
I felt someone's hands grabbed onto my shoulders firmly whilst shaking me to the high heavens.
I quietly mumbled as my tired eyes fluttered open. My eyes opened up and I found myself sitting on the same chair in the same place in almost the same position but more slouched. I guess I'd fallen asleep whilst observing the fish tank. Tiredly, I looked up to see a brightly smiling joyful Yoosung standing happily behind the chair in which I was resting on. I sat up properly, turned my chair towards yoosung and I threw a bright smile back. He was definitely not the person I was expecting to be in my house all of a sudden.
"So then Yoosung! What brings you here to Jumin and mine's house?" I asked politely, placing my right leg on top of my left and I got more comfortable in my chair.
"Umm..."
Yoosung hummed nervously, slowly rubbing his hand up and down his neck and swinging his glance over to the side.
"I actually came here to ask a favour of you... heh, heh."
He chuckled still in a tone of nervousness, then letting his hand let go of the side of his neck letting his arm carelessly flop down back beside him.
"Oh? Really?"
I puzzled, surprised at his words. Why would he need a favour from me? For what, exactly?
"Uhm, yeah. I was wondering if possibly... Maybe..."
He stuttered slightly, seemingly unable to finish his sentence with ease.
"You could help me with making a valentine's party?"
He asked me, looking down at his feet.
What made him think I wouldn't? Of course I would love to help him.
"Yeah! Sure thing! Just give me details and what you want me to help you with and I'll do my utmost best!"
I effused, almost jumping out of my chair to pat him gently on his shoulder.
"Why were you so reluctant to ask me? Of course I was going to help you!"
I assured, carrying on patting his shoulder.
"I guess I'm just a little shy, that's all!"
Yoosung shyly admitted.
I wonder why he was so shy of just asking me to help him with a valentine's party.
"It's not you, Lauren, I just..."
I saw his eyes start to fill up with tears as he said this.
"I just know it's been hard for you and Jumin the past few days after finding out the news about V's health."
The tears then slowly trickling down his face.
"The amount of Jumin's work has increased as things have been going on in the business. I never really liked V or trusted him but now... Now I just feel guilty... The death of his girlfriend and all the secrets he kept from all of us but now this..."
My heart melting by his words.
"I just don't know how to feel about anything anymore."
He started wiping away his tears as I gestured him to sit down on the chair.
"It's okay. None of us are in a great state at the moment but trust me on this. Things will get better. Don't dwell on the bad things and smile for all the good things."
