Meeting New People

     When Derek finished showing me around he told me that I could venture wherever I wanted to. I quickly decided on going to the library cause I saw some people in there. I walked back to the main corridor where the library branched off to. I soon met very large oak doors and pushed them open. Everyone immediately looked up at me like I was a mad bull or something. Some had looks of complete horror plastered on their face. And the ones that couldn't handle it got up as fast as they could and ran out of the room into unknown passageways. It was a weird sight to see. Why were they scared?
When most had clears the room I realized there were a few people left looking at me with kind faces. Almost like their recognized me, as if I had been there friend since forever. It was really comforting.
There was one face that caught my attention, his complexion was perfect. Light brown hair paired with deep thoughtful brown eyes that made me curious. I walked over to the sturdy oak table at a natural pace. Making it seem like I was in no hurry to go over to him when in reality his whole presence beckoned me towards him.
"What are you reading?" I asked as I approached. It wasn't a book that I had recognized and that says something because I love to read books.
"The History Of Mankind." He replied back. I was honestly left breathless his voice was angelic and beautiful. Intrigued, I sat down and questioned him again; "How long would it take to read a book like that?"
"Not long actually..." he mumbled, shrugging his shoulders " There's a lot of things that repeat itself."
"That seems like it would be true." I replied back nonchalantly.
"Here," he says handing me the book. "It's probably going to be of more use to you than me."
Smiling at him I gratefully take the book from him and set it in my lap. The silence that follows is extremely awkward.
"You want me to show you around the estate?" He said after a couple seconds.
"Yes, that would be nice." I chime back quickly.
