October 15th 2019, the day it all stopped. Nobody knows why it happened, some scientists have tried to explain it but there's no concrete proof to support any theories. All that we know is on that day, time itself just stopped, clocks were frozen, the weather never changed and most modern technology quickly became useless. The riots ensued not long after, society started crumbling, it was anarchy. These weren't the only effects that what people now know as 'The Pause' brought, mysterious sightings were discovered.
Mutations, humanoid creatures that were hunchbacked, with decaying skin whiter than snow, pulsing green vanes, knives for teeth and dead emotionless eyes. The 'Mutt' outbreak was a catastrophe; the streets of a once peaceful suburban town ran red with the blood of its people. Human extinction seemed more likely with each passing day. Military action was enforced to prevent so.
A new government was formed, they established new and strict laws, they're purpose was to dispose of "mutts", keep the peace and try to rebuild society. The future seemed promising, but when the alternative is the end of mankind. Anything was promising.
