I sat down slowly, noticing his eyes still watching me. I began to feel uncomfortable, occasionally shuffling in my seat, knowing full well that he was watching me from behind. I just don't get why he keeps watching me!
"So that's one of the poems we will be studying and comparing to others for your exam" the teacher stated. English literature was something I always enjoyed doing, so it didn't phase me at all. With that the bell rung and everyone packed up and started to leave.
"Louis, do you mind if I have a quick chat with you?" She said.
"Of course not", I didn't want to be late for class, but I couldn't say no.
"I've noticed that you're predicted very high grades for your English exams, if you don't mind, I wondered if you could help one of the other students?"
Oh great, I was never one for socialising, always keeping myself to myself, but I couldn't say no or else I'd look like a horrible person which I didn't want to be.
"Of course I can, do you mind me asking who it is?"
"Well no one particular yet because its only the start of the year, however if anyone's grades begin to slip, I'll let you know. Thank you Louis" smiling as she said so. And before I knew it, I was off to my next lesson which was...maths. Oh yay.
---
The day dragged, I didn't mind school but I preferred being at home. I'd already gotten two pieces of homework to do and it's only the first day. I guess because its the last year they're trying their best to push us to achieving the grades we want.
It was finally lunch so I went the cafe, grabbed some pasta and sat down at an empty table. My eyes gently scanned the room, groups of girls kept staring at one the guys on the other table. Not that I could blame them because he was gorgeous. A few groups of lads were scattered onto different tables, some with their girlfriends, some just sitting with their mates.
My eyes stopped on a familiar set of curls sitting in the corner, alone. Temptation was about to get the better of me when suddenly a blonde haired boy sat on my table.
"Hi there". His thick Irish accent shone threw as he spoke.
"Erm...hi?" I hadn't seen him before, so I was confused why he was talking to me.
"The names Niall, Niall Horan. Originally from Ireland, moved to England when I was 10. Enough about me, what about you?"
He clearly spoke a lot, very confident in himself, but he seemed nice. He had blonde hair styled in a quiff, light blue eyes and pale skin.
"I'm Louis Tomlinson, always lived in England, erm I don't know what else you want to know."
"Well then Louis, how's about after school we go to this little cafe round the corner?"
"Erm...well I don't kn-"
"Then it's settled! Meet me by the gates after school. Bye!" He interrupted.
And with that he was gone. I don't even know the guy yet I'm going to some cafe with him that I don't even know where it is. I don't really know where anything is.
I looked back towards the space where curly was sat, but looked straight back down again as his eyes caught mine. Grabbing my tray, I deposited my rubbish into the bin and left, hoping that he didn't notice my quick exit.
---
The final bell rang as I practically ran out of the classroom. Science was never my good subject, despite being predicted high grades.
I kept my promise and met Niall at the gates, strolling towards the cafe as we spoke about school.
It didn't take long before we arrived at a little cafe called 'Cindy's'. It was quite small but cosy, white-washed walls, cold wooden flooring and a few tables with about 4 seats on each. We sat down at the table next to the window and a lady came to take our order.
"Hi there boys, how may I help you?" She said with a smile. She looked around 34 or 35, with her hair pinned up in a hair net, heavy eye makeup on and light pink, thin lips.
"I'll have a hot chocolate, some pancakes, a muffin and a brownie please". I stared at Niall with my mouth slightly parted at the size of his appetite.
"I'll have a hot chocolate and a muffin please", smiling at Niall as he laughed at my small appetite.
"Right ok, coming right up!" And with that the lady left. Only a few moments later she came back with the drinks and food, leaving us to it.
"Have you spoke to anyone, other than me, at school? Made friends with anyone?" He asked getting straight to the point I guess.
"Nah, just you and only you, why?" I was curious to his sudden curiosity.
"Well, since you're new I'm gonna learn you the ropes. There are a few people I would advise you to stay away from, the main one being Harry Styles. You may have seen him around, tall, green eyes, dark curly hair, fairly pale skin?"
At this point I knew exactly who he was talking about, the mystery man who I kept seeing no matter where I went. Curiosity got the better of me, as I asked, "how come? What's he done wrong?"
Niall huffed before responding, "he's just not the type to get involved with ok? He's too busy smoking and doing drugs to care about anyone but himself! He pushes everyone away so there isn't even a point in bothering with him. Just trust me ok?"
I nodded in agreement. I barely knew Niall yet I felt as if I'd known him my entire life. We finished our drinks and food, chatted about our childhood and then left. We exchanged numbers and he said if I ever needed any advice then I could just give him a call. He really was a nice guy and seemed to care about me even though I hadn't known him for a day yet.
---
The next day came fast, too fast for my liking but oh well. English was my first lesson again, which I didn't mind. Walking into the classroom, I realised that Harry's seat was empty and I soon found myself questioning why he wasn't in. Was he hurt? Ill? Or just late? Wait - why did I care? I shook the thoughts and took my seat, taking out my books and other essentials.
Around 15 minutes into the lesson, the door opened and in strolled Harry, not seeming to care that he was late.
The teacher turned her head, staring straight at him, "Ah Harry, how nice of you to join us. Take your seat and we'll speak no more of this."
The tone in her voice made it clear that she was used to this happening, maybe he did this repeatedly last year? Argh why do I care? As he walked down the aisle to his seat, our eyes locked. I wanted to look away but I just couldn't, staring deeply into each other eyes, he walked past me brushing my shoulder. I shivered at his slight touch, confused as to why I did it. It was still summer so I wasn't cold, but his touch sent shivers running through my entire body. Why?
I don't understand what is happening to me. I don't get how he can do this to me. A gentle touch thats all it was, or was it more? Did I even want it to be more? I know I'm bisexual but Harry? Really? Niall had already warned me about him and I really didn't want to get involved with his issues.
So many questions were running through my brain, confusing me further, when suddenly, "Oi Louis" a boy whispered.
"This is from Harry, he said it was important?"
My stomach tightened and my heart beat became irregular. What did he want? And why was it important? I took the note from the boy and turned back around, opening it extremely slowly and carefully. The note read:
Louis,
Meet me by the lamp in the car park behind the school, after school. We need to talk.
Harry.
As I turned, I turned and caught his eye, he smiled. Dimples showing. Dimples!!! I swear, this boy will be the death of me.
