The Day We Moved to the Moon.
Alex, Tiger and Cookie hated going to Granny Paige's house. She was so boring, she still used google glasses. They were only going because it was her eightieth birthday. As they walked up to Granny Paige's house, Granny Paige came out of the house. There was a change, she liked staying in all day, talking to her old friends on Skype.
"Alex! Tiger! Cookie!" She called in her new, younger voice she'd decided to have on such a happy day. Out of the three children, the youngest, Cookie, liked Granny Paige the best. Cookie ran up to Granny Paige and gave her a big hug.
"Happy birthday, Granny!" She squealed.
"Ah, love, you're so much like Great-Auntie Leaf." Granny Paige said, bending down and picking up the five year old and giving her a massive hug. "Come in loves." Tiger ran in, it was cold outside, but Alex hated his Granny so much he'd rather freeze.
"I'm bored." Tiger said as soon as they'd got to the living room.
"How about I tell you a story?" Granny Paige suggested.
"Yer." Sixteen year old, Alex sighed. "Like why you called your daughter Amelia and made her call your grandson Alex." Alex moaned. He hated his name. Tiger and Cookie might not have been named after their parent's hobbies but animals and food was a lot more normal than 'Alex'. That was the main reason Alex hated Granny Paige so much, it was her fault he got bullied.
"I could." Granny Paige said, putting Cookie down and sitting on the sofa. "In fact, I'll tell you exactly why you've got your names. It's a very long story. It was around thirty-twenty.
"It's about when you all went to the moon?" Tiger, who was twelve, asked. "We were learning about it in history." Granny smiled.
"Let me tell you." She said. And so begins the story.
The year was 3021, it was the thirty-first of March, and it was my birthday. I was turning thirteen, a teenager at last. I woke up early, but I wasn't allowed to get up, I had to wait for Mum or Dad to come with our masks.
"Paige." My little sister, Leaf, whispered. I turned around, it was hard, our net was old and it clung right around us so it felt like we were trapped.
"Yes?" I whipped back. Leaf smiled, her little blue eyes lighting up.
"Happy birthday." She said, stretching her little arms out and hugged me tightly. "You're a teen now." I nodded.
"I know." I replied, hugging her back. "I can go out by myself!"
"Will you get me a present?" Leaf asked. "When Flower Sanders's big brother, Castle, goes out, he gets her presents."
"Of course I will." I replied.
"Paige, Leaf." It was Mum. I slowly turned around so I was facing her.
"You're up early, Mum." Leaf stated. Mum smiled.
"I knew my teenager would be up nice and early." She replied. An excited shiver ran down my back. Mum went to the cupboard and got out our masks. We were lucky, our Dad was a successful author so we had enough money for a fancy camouflage mask. Lots of people had to wear the ones that were evident.
"We're allowed to get up early?" Leaf sounded like she was about to burst of excitement. Mum nodded.
"It's a very special occasion." Leaf squealed loudly.
"Ooh, yes!" She celebrated, punching the air.
"Careful!" I warned. "You'll brake the net." Leaf gasped.
