Chapter 2: Visiting the Savior

Nico's P.O.V.
After gathering up everyone I was going to take with me to visit Percy in the Underworld, I told everyone to link hands and stand in a circle.

"Nico, you really shouldn't be doing this," My boyfriend said. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not, idiot. Hazel and I will give Mrs. O'Leary some of our strength so that she can take us." Will blushed and looked embarrassed. I rolled my eyes again and leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek. He blushed deeper when he turned his head at the wrong time and my kiss landed on his lips instead. I was probably as red as, if not redder than, Will myself. But I didn't pull away, instead I closed my eyes and leaned farther into him, pulling my hand from Hazel's on my other side and wrapping my arms around his neck.

I heard Piper "aw" and shriek. I heard Frank snort and Hazel giggle. Reyna laughed and I think I heard her hands clap excitedly. Rachel cooed and Clarrise grunted. Thalia and Leo yelled at the same time "Get a room!" I opened my eyes and pulled back from Will, blushing a deep scarlet. I retracted my arm from around his neck and self-consciously rubbed the back of my neck, slipping my other arm down to grab Will's hand again. I grabbed Hazel's hand and looked at the ground, trying not to show how embaresed I am.

"Mrs. O'Leary!" I called, still not looking up from the ground. I finally looked up when she came bounding over, as if sensing that we were going to see Percy. "Hey, girl. You look happy. Do you know what we're gonna go do? We are going to go visit Percy." Her tail started to thump the ground so hard, it felt like an earthquake. I glanced over at Annabeth, who was linked in the circle between Piper and Thalia. She was staring at Mrs. O'Leary with watery eyes and a small, sad smile on her face, as if she was remember mg better times with the gentle and sweet Hellhound that had adopted Percy after her previous owner, Daedalus, died in the battle of the Labyrinth.

I turned to look at my sister, checking to see if she was ready. She nodded and I took a deep breath, closing my eyes. "Alright everyone. Here we go." I said and as silence rang through the clearing we were using to shadow travel from, I snapped my eyes open and looked at Mrs. O'Leary with a fierce gaze. "Take us to Elysium, girl. The Underworld." She barked and we fell into a nearby shadow. As we traveled, I felt my strength fading and gripped Will's hand tighter in an effort to ignore the voices in the shadows that were calling me to join them.

Will's P.O.V.
I felt Nico squeeze my hand tigjr as we slipped through the shadows. They must be whispering to him. I squeezed back and hoped that he wouldn't dissolve into shadow.

All of a sudden, we were spit out into a silvery field. Everyone fell on their butts. I immediatly turned to check on Nico and saw his eyes roll back in his head as he passed out. I lunged and caught him before his head hit the ground. My head swiveled to Hazel when I heard her moan. I watch as Frank caught her when she passed out as well. I quickly pulled some unicorn drout from my pocket and dribbled some into Nico's mouth. Then I tossed the bottle to Frank who dribbled a little into Hazel's mouth.

She groaned and opened her golden eyes to look at Frank. Then she stood up and glanced at the rest of the group who had managed to pull themselves to their feet. She blushed and looked down, her chocolate curls falling in her face. "Sorry, guys." She said quietly. My gaze was torn from her when I heard Nico grunt in my lap and shift. I waited for him to wake up and was rewarded when his dark eyes fluttered open and he sat up. He glanced around and rolled his eyes.
