My love-
I cannot bring myself to regret our memories. I have loved each and every one. Even though I know that our choices have brought us pain, my selfishness would never give them up.
I am proud to say that you were once mine. If that is no longer true, I understand. If you confirm my fears my heart will shatter, but I know that I will never forget this.
I would never ask you to defy your father. I want our love to be given willingly when nothing but happiness comes from it. Maybe we can begin again when his blessing is upon us, but I cannot wait for you until then.
I want you now but I do not need you. I simply need to know that you regret nothing as I do. I only need your friendship, it is more than enough. I know for many it doesn't work, but I am willing to try. I just can't quite fathom leaving you behind just yet.
My love, I dream of a day when we can be happy together. I want that future so badly but I can't keep living in the past. We both need to move on. If our paths cross again in the distant future, just know my heart was once yours and it very possibly could be yours again.
