"be careful what you put online,
it never goes away"
but damn do I miss simpler times
when nothing ever stayed
the polaroids on my wall
have all faded quite enough
the typewriter in the corner
its ink is nearly dry
the photographs I used to take
have almost all been lost
and the papers I used to write
are all wrinkled or gone
I fell a bit safer
knowing it is lost
than knowing it could come back
and haunt my future jobs
the laughter is still in the photos
they still make me smile
I still still see the teardrops
stained on my old love letters
moving on is scary
it makes me long for easier days
"be careful what you don't put online,
didn't they tell you it never stays?"
