To Speak of Silence
The calm,
right before the morning dew,
the dawn of a new day,
this is a moment of peace,
a moment of silence,
before all the world breaks out
There are moments in life,
like such calm,
when the world seems to fall away.
In loneliness,
In happiness,
Not always in the darkness.
If we speak of such a silence,
then its calm ceases to be.
It is no longer silent.
If we speak of such a place,
between here and the silence,
then it is no longer ours.
I can't tell you,
of my silence,
or why I am silent.
Because truly,
I am the only one here,
sitting upon these steps.
Between here and there,
insanity and the silence,
it all leaves me speechless.
