The young girl, now alone, picks herself up off the cold concrete, trying to inhale the crisp air, remembering she doesn't have lungs anymore and giving up, she starts to walk, not really caring where she goes. She mumbles to herself about all sorts of topics, remembering she's wearing nothing, she gasps, running and ducking into an empty alley, searching through for something, anything, to wear. Due to her panic, she fails to notice the quiet boy watching her from the darkness, she freezes.

"Hello there..." the boy says, she turns around to face him quickly, covering herself out of fear, the boy walks forward, shrugging off his jacket and offering it to her.

"Here, take it." She looks shocked, taking a second, she takes the jacket from him and puts it on, zipping it up and hugging herself.

"T-Thank you." The boy just nods, smiling at her.

"The names Edison. Edison Gravel. What's yours?"

"Z-Zerioette... Smiles... I think..."

"Oh, well, that's pretty hard to pronounce... what should I call you?"

"I... hmm... call me... Melody."

"Melody... that's a pretty name. I like it. It suits you." The girl nods, awkwardly hugging the boy.

"I... uh... thank you again, Edison." He blushed softly, hugging her back warmly.

"Your welcome, Melody. I'm happy to help you." She pulls back and forces on a smile, the boy shaking his head.

"No need, I saw what happened. Don't force it." Her smile fades as she looks down, choking back a sob and collapsing into his arms, trying so hard to cry, wanting desperately for the tears to fall, but they just won't, shaking like a leaf, the boy looks shocked, gently lifting her off the ground, surprising her with his strength, he carries her away in a direction she's never been.

"I... I'll take you to where I live, alright? And... I'll care for you... just... please... stop crying... you aren't alone anymore..." he's become extremely awkward, he doesn't know what to do when another is sad, he desperately wants her to stop. She eventually does, noticing the panic in his voice, she nuzzles her face into his neck, enjoying the warmth his body gives off.

"Alright... thank you Edison..." he blushes intensely, happy she can't see his face, a few moments later they arrive at a tree house just outside of the town, she looks up at it, surprised, but she doesn't say anything, he sets her down gently on her feet.

"You can climb, right?" She nods, grabbing the ladder nervously and pulling herself up, she's obviously never done this before so she almost falls a few times, he climbs up after her to make sure she doesn't fall, looking up and blushing intensely, looking back down quickly, they both climb all the way up and sit together in silence as he starts to prepare some type of meal he bought using money from his job at a store in the market. She watches silently, eventually turning and staring out at the market, her tail waving slowly as she spots the pizzeria she came from, she hisses softly, drawing his attention.

"What's wrong?" He asks, she shakes her head.

"It's nothing, don't worry, I just... yeah, it's nothing." She goes back to being silent, turning around to find him staring directly at her, she feels herself heating up.

"U-Uh... what's wrong? Am I that ugly?" The looks down, covering her face. He shakes his head quickly.

"No! Not at all! Your absolutely beautiful! I just... your tail... it's fascinating..." she moves the tail over to where she can grab it.

"This? Fascinating? I'd say it's more... annoying, if anything." He shakes his head, disagreeing, reaching over and gently touching one of her ears, she jumps and her tail flicks, hitting him, her ears pointing down.

"D-Don't do t-that! Their s-sensitive!!!" In reality she's embarrassed because it felt really good, she wants him to do it again but she, of course, won't tell him that. But, he picks up on it, pulling her over and gently playing with her ears, causing her to softly purr. He gets this really adorable gleam in his eyes, wondering how much like a cat she is, and if he touched her stomach if she would claw him.

"I think I'll keep doing it..." he doesn't stop, he starts to pet her head, getting a little too carried away and kissing her stomach, she squeals and scoots away from him, curling into a ball, he gasps as what he just did registers, covering his mouth.

"S-Sorry, I didn't m-mean too..." he freezes up as she pulls him into a sweet, awkward kiss, she pulls back.

"Your forgiven." He has this cute smile on his face, pulling her into a hug.

"God, I just met you and I'm already in love..."

"Oi, don't get too attached! It's not like your the only boy I know!!!" He laughs softly.

"I am, aren't I?" She nods slowly, humphing.

"Well, I'm glad to be the first!" She looks up at him, genuinely smiling for the first time since she died.
