New year's eve. It's supposed to be a fun night where you celebrate the chance of a new clean slate. Except I don't see how anything can be fun when I just do the same thing every year.
Go out with Team Starkid.
Get a little tipsy and dance.
Count down to midnight.
Kiss no one.
Go home.
Somehow have a massive hangover despite drinking hardly anything.
I want that to change. I love spending time with my friends but I hate being alone at midnight, so this year I am going to take charge and find a man. This won't take long as I already know the perfect guy.

God do I like him. I can't even remember when it started but this isn't just a little crush anymore. I don't want to wait, and who says the guy has to make the first move?
So here I am, drink in hand, in the corner of a party at 11:58 surprisingly not that nervous. I mean if he kisses back great, if not I'll just pass it as a drunk mistake.
"You alright Mere?"
"Crap Denise you scared me!"
"Sorry! I just came here to find out if we're doing our usual plan? The midnight plan?"
"You know what Denise I don't think we are. I've got a new plan. I'm going to kiss Brian." It felt good to say that aloud.
"Wait seriously? Oh my god finally! I'm so happy for you!"
"Thanks Denise! I should probably try to find him as-" I was cut off by the start of a countdown.
