Imogen's POV
I can't believe that I finally get to hang out with Brad. Not just that, but I get some one-on-one time with him! I can't even begin to explain how excited I am. I sat there with him in the car listening to music. His car was a bit warm though. I was uncomfortable in the sweater I had thrown on to get ice cream. I took it off, not wanting to sweat too much.
"So, where are we going?" I asked him. I could feel the excitement bubbling inside me.
"I was so surprised to see you there. And even more surprised that you actually wanted to hang out with me!" I could feel the excitement washing over me, I was barely able to hide it anymore.
"I knew you'd be there. I wanted to see you. Remember how I told you I'd come to you as soon as I was done with Vanessa?" replied Brad
"I didn't think you were actually serious...Are you and Vanessa really done this time?" I tried to keep calm, but the hopefulness in my voice was obvious.
"Now why would I be here if we weren't?" Brad replied with a small smirk on his face.
I should have questioned the way he responded to me, but I didn't. We kept driving along further and further away from town. I only had a small idea on where we could possibly be going. On the edge of town there's an old quarry that's filled with water now. Technically you aren't allowed to even be on the site there. Something about loose rocks along the edge. That never stopped anyone from going to it though. It was a popular hangout spot. Tons of drinking and partying went on there year round. I didn't want to be kept in the dark much longer though.
"I know I already asked this.." I began. "But where are we going? You never really answered my question."
"Oh? My bad. We are heading to the woods outside the quarry. I know a pretty quiet and nice spot there...So we can talk." Said Brad
I knew it! I nearly shouted it out loud. He's taking me to his spot! I couldn't help to think though, how many others did he take here?
After some more time passed driving, we finally arrived. It was about 1A.M at this point. I was feeling tired, but the possibility of what Brad and I could be doing here kept me up and moving. We stepped out of his car into the cold night. It had gotten much colder since earlier. I couldn't find my sweater in his car.
"Hey, what are you looking for? Asked Brad.
"I can't find my sweater I took off. I think it rolled under the seat or something.." I quickly replied, wanting to be on our way.
"Don't worry about it." Chuckled Brad.
"Here, take my jacket for now. We'll find it later before I take you home."
"Alright, let's go then." I said while putting on his jacket. I couldn't help but notice another small smirk, like he thought something was funny.
The woods were really dark. It was a new moon so it was darker than it normally would be. We walked along a small, winding path downwards towards the quarry. The forest was mostly pine trees here. There was a scent of fresh pine needles in the air and the crunch of old, dried up ones was the only other sound here besides us. If it weren't for Brad here, I would have been terrified to walk here at this time of the night. Something didn't quite feel right though. Something was off and I couldn't put my finger on it. Once we stopped at his spot I couldn't hold back any longer
