Just A Small Break

Chapter 2

I woke up because of a loud bang on our dorm door. I tried to open my eyes and saw Jessica looking at me with wide eyes
"Open it!"she commanded and pointed to the door.
She literally is the worst person in the morning. She can be the sweetest girl but if you annoy her in the morning, oh boy then you should better run for your life.

I rolled my eyes and got up, I really didn't want to talk to her. I learned my lessons and knew better than to confront her. I slowly went to the door and held the door knob. Who would be making so much noise on a sunday morning?

I opened the door and saw Benjamin standing there. He didn't look very happy.
"Oh my lord Charlotte!"
I took a step back and was surprised about how furious he sounded.
"I've been calling you for the last hour. Why aren't you answering?"

I looked at him with a big question mark on my face. "I was sleeping Benjamin! Why are you like this?"
He scratched the inner corner of his eye, showing that he's obviously annoyed.
"Charlotte it's 1 pm. I thought we're having lunch together"

He tucked his blonde hair while leaning against the doorway. His pretty brown eyes looked at me. I ran to my phone and saw it was 1:07 pm and 17 missed calls.

"I'm so sorry Benjamin. I didn't hear my phone and I swear I just woke up."
He's a very emotional person and I was scared that he was going to be angry for the entire day. I wanted to talk to him about my plan but I really didn't want to hurt him. I just had to hope his mood would change.

He sat on the bed and put me on his lap and ran his fingers through my hair and gave me a peck on my lips.
"I'm sorry Char! I didn't mean to be so enraged. Will we still have lunch together?"
I nodded and went to my closet to get changed.
"Please juste leave. I'm really trying to sleep!" Jessica put her pillow on her head. I quickly put some better clothes and makeup on.
"Jess don't forget to go to Jacob's"
Just as we closed the door I could hear a faint "Fuck".
Yea she obviously forgot about him too.

We ate at our favorite restaurant and then decided to go for a walk.
"I really want to get a tattoo" I said as we passed a tattoo shop. I stared at it and looked at the name Flaming Wizard Tattoo.
I had to remember that name so Jessica and I could visit and check it out.

"I hate tattoos" added Benjamin.
I knew he hated them. Everytime he saw someone who had a tattoo, he would tell me how much he disliked them.

I squeezed his hand "I don't!" I said sternly.
He didn't say any other word because he knew if he'd try to forbid me something then I'd break up. Oh I really would. I hated men who control their partner more than I dislike loud chewing.

He gave me a quick kiss on my cheek, took his hand out of mine and put his arm around my waist. We continued to walk until we reached the campus.
He nodded towards a bench and we sat down.

Now would be the best time to talk to him.
I held his cold hand and looked him in the eyes.
It was the beginning of February which meant it was very cold but it didn't snow.
"I need to talk to you" I said softly and he gulped.

I couldn't stand to look at him. He looked so fragile and innocent and I was about to let my inner hoe out.
"What's it about?"he wiped a tear away as it began to roll down my cheek.
I softly caressed his hands and waited until the group of students passed.

I began "Uhm It sounds dumb but I want to take a break"
He immediately took his hands out of mine, he looked so crushed and I was about to kiss him and forget about the break but I knew what I wanted and if he loved me then he'd understand.
"You want to break up? I thought we're doing fine? What did I do wrong? You can get as many tattoos as you want Charlotte I swear I'm not against it!"
