"You kept it?!" Sabine exclaimed "I thought you told Kanan you crashed it?"
"I told him that as a cover up." Ezra said. "Did you really think I would have gotten rid of a TIE?"
Sabine opened her mouth to make a comment but then she stopped. This could be the perfect base for a masterpiece of art. After all, she did hate those flat greys and blacks.
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I'm late for my training with Kanan." Ezra muttered. "He's gonna give me a lecture again."
With that, Ezra set off through the grassy plains back to the Ghost. Sabine had barely noticed his departure. She was too busy thinking of suitable colour pallettes that would suit the vehicle. She wanted a bright colour but something that showed speed. After a few minutes of deep thought, Sabine decided to head back to the Ghost. There, she could sketch ideas out for the design. She started to walk through the long grasses, muttering about patterns and colours to herself as she went along.
After a long walk, Sabine eventually reached the Ghost. She walked past Zeb as she went up the ramp. She was still speaking to herself as she headed further inside. Zeb stared at her back with a look of bewilderment on his face before grumbling 'that girl' with a roll of his eyes. Sabine, still lost in thought, waved her hand lazily in greeting at Hera as she entered her private room. Hera watched as the door shut behind Sabine, before giving a small smile and continuing on her path. Sabine sat at her grafittied table, a sketchbook and pencil lying in wait. She opened up the book and started tapping the pencil on the table.
Tap, tap, tap.
Sabine set the pencil down for a few seconds, then she picked it up again and started sketching. She stenciled out patterns at the side of the page, some were applied in her drawing concept, some weren't. She drew quietly, only the sound of the pencil on paper to be heard. Minutes later, she put the pencil down again. Sabine held the sketchbook up and observed it. A look of satisfaction filled her face and she smiled. Sabine went rifling through her drawers, selecting five specific cans of spray paint. She got out a small bag. Small, but big enough to hold the cans. With her sketchbook tucked under her arm and her cans of paint safely tucked in the bag, she quietly made her way out of the ship as not to be seen and questioned. She jogged through the plains, the wind whipping through her short, coloured hair. It wasn't long before she reached the hidden site of the TIE fighter. She settled down the her bag and pulled out the cans. She flipped to the right page on her pad and placed it next to the paints. She looked to the fighter, a determined look on her face. Time to get to work."Hey Sabine, I'm back..." Ezra started.
His eyes were glued to the TIE.
"What the...Sabine what did you do?" Ezra asked.
"What does it look like? I gave it a makeover." She answered promptly, a smirk on her face.
Ezra ran his hand over his face.
"Well, I guess this could never be used for a undercover op." He sighed.
"Hey, it's not a weapon anymore, it's a masterpiece. My masterpiece." Sabine stated.
"You sure made use of the colour spectrum, didn't you?"
"I'll take that as a compliment."
Ezra raised his eyes to the sky.
"We should get going." He said. "The whole crew is wondering where you've gone."
"Alright, you go on ahead. I'll catch up." Sabine said.
"We'll see about that." Ezra boasted.
And he sprinted away.
Sabine packed up her supplies and slung her bag over her back. She looked back at the TIE, it's colours blending in with the golden sunset that shone behind the rocks. She flicked her fringe out of her face and smiled brightly. Her hazel eyes sparkling with happiness. With one last look behind her, she ran off, in hope of catching up with Ezra.
She had a smile on her face the whole journey. Her hazel eyes filled with happiness.
A/N: Thanks again to VmCdReAmEr for the CREATIVE ideas.
Sorry I took so long, but I really enjoyed writing this chapter, especially the last part. I love art myself (just check my doodles and scribbles book for proof)
