"Okay guys settle down, I am going to pass these papers around they are flyers for homecoming. It tells you how you can get tickets, where it will be held, and the time." The teacher passes around homecoming flyers to us.
"Hey are you going to homecoming,
I know a perfect guy you can go with." Maggie says shaking the flyer in my face.
"Dances aren't really my thing." I say.
"Oh come on! You went to prom junior year and loved it." Maggie says.
I roll my eyes and laugh.
We get to our next class, thankfully we are in the same class.
"I hate this teacher" Maggie whispers to me.
A couple minutes later it's 8:45, and then 9:03.
We were all sitting in class when our teacher walked out. When she came back in she was silent.
"What's going on?" Maggie whispers to me.
"I don't know..." I say suspicious.
"Attention Staten Island High school." Our principle starts to say. His voice sounds shaky.
"A tragedy has just occurred in New York City." Everyone starts looking around.
"At 8:45 a.m. The North Tower of the World Trade Center has been struck by an American Airlines plane. At 9:03 a.m."
In that moment I couldn't hear him speaking anymore. The North Tower... my dad works there.
I got up.
"I- I have to go home!" I yell.
Everyone turns their attention to me. The teacher nearly trips trying to grab me. I run down the hall and out the front door.
There are people in the streets, crying. I stopped.
"What's going on!" I scream.
A lady with light brown hair approaches me.
"The N-North Tower just got hit by a plane then the So-South.." She couldn't finish her words.
I run down the block. I see my house, I see my mom.
