Beep beep
I hit my alarm clock and groaned. I looked at the calendar next to my desk.
"Ugh it's only Tuesday." I say to myself.
"Honey I made breakfast come on." My mom says to me.
I go out to the kitchen and my dad is sitting there reading the newspaper.
"Morning dad." I say and grab a plate.
"Good morning sweetie." My dad looks up and says.
Right now it's 6:30 AM and everything is normal. Or so we all thought. My dad Dave Jacksons works in the North Tower, everyone's life in New York City and America is about to change. Including mine.
"Honey is that physics test today?" My mom asks.
"No I think the teacher is moving it to tomorrow." I say.
I get up to go brush my teeth.
"Alright I'm going to be late for work and it takes me 20 minutes to get there, bye Brianna I love you." I hear my dad say then close the door.
That's it, I never saw him again. The last thing I said to him was "morning dad." I never got the chance to say I loved him.
"Ok hurry up Brianna you're going to be late." My mom says.
I quickly put on jeans and throw a shirt on.
"Bye mom see you after school." I say then walk out the door.
The school is only a couple blocks away so I walk with my best friend Maggie every morning.
"Hey I was starting to think you weren't coming today." Maggie says.
"Yeah sorry I woke up a little late." I say.
"Did you hear that Jessica is dating Matthew now?" Maggie asks me.
"No, I'm not surprised though. Jessica is dating a new person every week." Maggie laughs.
We get in the school and I go to my locker.
It's 7:30. In an hour and 15 minutes everything would change.
