Poisoned (BOOK TWO OF TRANSFORMED)

Chapter 8

Bumblebee's pov

'Arcee! Arcee snap out of it please, snap out of it!!! Shit, Arcee wake up!' I say and smack her. She seems to snap out of it and glares at me before taking in the whole situation. She has a few cuts but otherwise seems to be okay.

"Bumblebee, what the hell happened?" She asks, pain clear in her voice. I look back and Airachnid keeps getting closer by the second. I try to lean towards her to help her unbuckle but my legs are stuck under the dash and in extreme pain. Not to mention that we're hanging upside down and all the energon in my body starts rushing to my head.

'Arcee, get out of the car and start running. And don't you dare look back. Please don't look back.' I say and she starts to look really upset.

"Bee, I'm not leaving you here by yourself. You're injured, you'll never make it." She says and I frown.

'I'm sorry, but your life is more important that mine... now get out of the car.' I say and holding her head, I unbuckle her. She drops to the roof of the car but instead of going towards the door, she starts coming towards me.

'No, no, no! You get out of the car, now.' I say sternly. She just glares and keeps moving closer to me. Suddenly, the car starts to tip. It's not Airachnid, she's still making her way over here. I think she wants to watch us struggle before actually capturing us. What a glitch. I look down and realize my car landed at the edge of one of Jasper's many cliffs.

'Arcee get back! The car is on a cliff, if you come any closer, our weight will push it over the edge and I doubt Airachnid plans on catching us. Please just get out of the car and start running. Maybe you'll be able to contact Ratchet this time.' I say and she sighs in frustration.

"I can't just leave you..." she says and I narrow my eyes.

'Well, you're going to have to.' I say and do my best to push her out the broken window, hoping that maybe Airachnid doesn't notice. I watch as she crawls out of the car and realize she's limping. Her leg is injured. Shit, if Airachnid notices, she won't make it very far. I try to get myself unstuck and I can feel the car tipping. I growl in frustration. Airachnid's starting to pick up the pace a bit and I'm not sure if she's just had her fun or if she's going after Arcee. I manage to unbuckle myself and end up dangling even more. Primus, why'd you have to get my legs stuck like this? I look to where they are and try to figure out how they're stuck so that I might be able to pull myself free. The car starts tipping more. I'm going to die, aren't I? I am not okay with this! I start pulling at my legs which, instead of loosening them, makes them hurt even more. I try pushing the dash back and it loosens slightly. I notice that something I stuck in my leg and poking out the other end. Now I feel sick. I look over to where Airachnid was and notice she's about 2 feet away from the car. At least she's not going after Arcee.

"Hello bug... having fun yet?" She sneers. I try to ignore her while pulling at my legs some more. Okay, I've got one free... now, for the skewered leg...

"You know, you really should pull that out of your leg, you might start leaking more energon than you already are. Even if you do, you won't make it far." She taunts and I growl. As she looks closer at the car, she frowns.

"Where'd Arcee go? I think I'll go on a little hunt..." she smirks and gets up. No, no, no, this cannot be happening. I really hope Cee manages to get through to Ratchet.

Ratchet's pov

As I'm working on trying to find a cure, I hear static coming through on the comm link. I tell them to speak again but, all I get is static. I start trying to figure out what's wrong with the comms and find that some sort of signal is scrambling them. I put the cure aside for a moment and start working to unscramble it, just incase the message is due to an emergency. About 20 Minutes later, I figure it out and just as I do, Arcee starts talking.

:: Ratchet, can you hear me?:: she asks. She sounds like she's in pain. I reply immediately.

"Yes, what's wrong? Where are you guys?" I ask.

::well, I'm not entirely sure where we are, but I do know that Airachnid's here and Bee and I are injured... badly.:: she says and I immediately get to work on finding their location.

"Should we be assuming that Airachnid is still her regular self and not human?" I ask. A bit of static before her reply.

::yes, she's still a bot. Gotta go, she's coming my way.:: she says and I start to type faster. Optimus enters the room.

"Ratchet, what is going on?" Optimus asks. I look down at him.

"Bumblebee and Arcee are in trouble." I respond. He's silent for a moment.

"I'll go and help them." He says and makes his way to the ground bridge.

"No Optimus. I'll go. The bot attacking them is still their regular size and they'll crush you in an instant if you go out there." I say and activate the bridge. Optimus nods and steps back. I walk through and find myself watching a horror movie. Airachnid is back, Bumblebee's car is completely crushed and turned over and neither him or Arcee are to be seen. Anywhere.

Arcee's pov

I hear a groundbridge open and see Ratchet walk through. Airachnid notices his arrival and stops looking for me and instead starts heading in Ratchet's direction... hopefully he'll be okay... I take the opportunity to run over to the car and help Bee. The car's about halfway over the edge now and it's still shifting a bit. I run up to the window and look inside. He's managed to free one leg but the other is still stuck. And something is going straight through his... thigh, I think it's called.

"Bee." I say and he stops struggling and looks at me.

'Cee, she's looking for you, why are you out in the open?' He asks. I turn his head in the direction of where the groundbridge was and we both see Ratchet and Airachnid going against each other.

"We'd better hurry, Ratchet doesn't look like he can last much longer." I say. Bumblebee rolls his eyes.

'What does it look like I've been trying to do this whole time?' He says and I just ignore him. I grab a rock and start smashing it against whatever is stuck in Bee's leg. Eventually it snaps in half and I pull Bee out of the car. The change in weight caused the car to tip even more. Once I get Bee a safe distance from the car, it falls over the edge of the cliff. The sound of it hitting the ground causes both Ratchet and Airachnid to look in our direction. They both start running for us, Airachnid moving quicker since she has eight legs and not just two. And growls and blasts her with his gun, causing her to stumble and him to gain the lead. He reaches us, scoops us up and has Optimus activate a bridge. We get through and close it before she can follow. Ratchet places us both down on two medical berths and everyone else comes in the room.

"Woah... what a wicked injury!" Smokescreen yells, coming over to look at both of us. I swat him away but Bee starts making up some story about how he was super heroic and that's why there's something going through his leg. I just roll my eyes. Then Ratchet speaks up.

"Someone go get nurse Darby. And, although I don't want to admit it, Bumblebee was right. Airachnid is back, and she's probably the one who did this..." Ratchet grumbled the last part. I look over to Bee who's smirking and making an 'I told you so' face. I smile slightly. Nurse Darby comes into the room and just stares.

"Jesus Christ, what happened?"
