~The next day~

Bumblebee's pov

As I was punching one of the punching bags in the training room, I saw a figure run down the hallway. I looked out to see Arcee running and she looked pretty freaked out. I followed her and when I turned the corner, she was sitting against the wall... crying? I have never seen Arcee cry before... this must be bad.

'Uh, Cee, you okay?' I ask as I tap her shoulder. She looks up at me and her eyes widen in horror and anger.

"You... You killed Tailgate! He was my partner! You sparkless glitch!" She screams and I step back, startled by her outburst.

'Arcee, calm down... its me, Bumblebee... it's okay, you're safe. You're in our base.' I try soothing her and she calms down slightly.

"Bee, what happened?" She asks and I shake my head.

'I don't know...' I say.

Arcee's pov

I'm surrounded by flames. I can't help but start to cry slightly. He's dead. He's really gone. I see a figure move behind me and realize I should start running. All my processor can think of is getting out of here. Alive, that is. I turn a corner and spot a crevice in a burnt down building and decide to hide in there until it's safe to come out. I huddle up into a corner and sit there, helm in my arms. Why? Why does Tailgate have to be gone? It's not fair... he didn't do anything wrong. Suddenly I can hear a faint voice and somebot tapping my shoulder. I look up and there she is. Airachnid. She says something to me but I don't hear it.

"You... You killed Tailgate! He was my partner! You sparkless glitch!" I scream at her and she steps back. But then I see something different. She has a worried expression on her faceplate, and she begins to try calming me down. My vision gets blurry and then clears slightly.

'Arcee, calm down... its me, Bumblebee... it's okay, you're safe. You're in our base.' He says. Oh, it was just Bumblebee...

"Bee, what happened?" I ask. He shakes his head.

'I don't know...' he says. I furrow my brow... Why is this happening? I haven't had any dreams about Tailgate since before Cliffjumper... He puts a hand in my face and I take it, allowing me to stand up. We decide not to continue talking about it and go about our day as if nothing happened. That night as I try to sleep, I can't stop having mini flashes of what I had seen and I had a sick feeling in my... stomach, I think is the word. At around 3am, I finally manage to fall asleep.

Optimus's pov

:: The day was grim, the battle fierce. Many once tall buildings, ablaze and crumbled on the ground. Elita-1 and I stood in the city they called Kaon. One of the biggest and most populated cities on Cybertron, was now empty and in ruins.

"Oh, Optimus... What did you ever do to make Megatron so angry? You two were such good friends..." Elita says. I look down at her and sigh.

"I... I don't know. I mean, I know he's mad about me becoming a Prime instead of him but that can't be the whole reason, can it?" I respond and she shrugs. A few jets fly over head and we quickly shoot them down.

"Sir, we cannot hold them back much longer... We're losing at least ten bots per minute... What do we do?" A commander comes and asks.

"Keep fighting Ultra Magnus... I fear that if they manage to take over this city, we will have a very sudden disadvantage. It is vital for us to keep them out for as long as possible." I reply and he returns to his post. But before he can make it back, the city is flooded with cons and bots fighting, energon spraying everywhere. Elita and I begin fighting as well. I get a bit separated from her and a few minutes later, I hear someone calling my designation.

"Optimus!" I follow the sound of the voice to see Megatron, with Elita. He's got her pressed up against his frame as he holds a dagger to her throat. I growl and run at Megatron.

"Ah ah ah Optimus. Unless you'd like me to kill your sparkmate, I'd stay back." He warns and I stop dead in my tracks. "Now, all you have to do to save her, is hand over the city." He says. I narrow my optics in anger. I look at Elita and she says not to. At her movement Megatron tightens his grip. I panic and wanting to save my love, I sigh in defeat.

"Fine... Autobots, stand down." I mumble and everyone stops dead in their tracks.

"W-what?" Ultra Magnus asks and I glare at him.

"I said stand down." I growl and everyone stops fighting. Megatron smirks at me.

"I knew you'd see things my way." He says and orders his Decepticons to start whatever it is he has planned for this place. But he doesn't let Elita go.

"Let her go Megatron!" I say and he gives me an innocent look.

"Did I say I was going to spare her? Oh well, they don't call us Decepticons for nothing!" He cackles as he slits her throat and flies off. She's off line before she even hits the ground.

"No!" I yell as I crouch by her. "Elita... no..." I cry. ::

"No!" I yell as I quickly sit up in my bed. I'm breathing heavily and what the humans would call, sweating. I look around my surroundings to see I'm in my berthroom on Earth. I calm down slightly. I think about what just happened. Elita... she was my sparkmate... my best friend... and I let Megatron take over a whole city to save her, just for him to kill her anyway... and still leave with the things he'd come for. That's the one mistake I've never forgiven myself for... And Bumblebee and Arcee wonder why I don't want them having too close of a relationship... I lay back down and try to sleep again but I find a discomfort in my abdomen. Suddenly, there's some sort of liquid in my mouth and it comes pouring out onto my berth and the floor. I think the human term for this is "puking". Well scrap.
