Chase's Pov
I paced around the living waiting for Mr.Davenport to come up from the infirmity to tell us the news. Everyone else was laying on the couch also anxiously waiting."How could I let this happen"I muttered to myself.
I let the team onto the battlefield with no knowledge on our opponent. We were basically going in blind and it ended with Oliver laid out on a gurney.
"Chase don't beat yourself up about this"Bree stated comforting me.
"Oliver was just caught off guard," Skylar said.
I continued to frantically pace around the living room, hoping to calm myself down. My brain was in overdrive as I went through different circumstances where I could've stopped Oliver from getting hurt. Each one made me even more mad at myself.
"No I wasn't being responsible and it ended up with one of our teammates injured"I exclaimed.
The hydro-lift opened revealing Mr.Davenport in a tired state. We ran over to him and crowded around to hear the news about our teammate.
"So, how is he?"Kaz asked probably hoping that his best friend was okay.
"Since Oliver has ice manipulation powers his body froze up his spine to make it heal faster" Davenport explained.
"So he's okay?"Bree asked.
"He's fine just needs a couple of hours to rest and heal," Davenport said walking towards the penthouse exit.
I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding in. I could relax a little knowing that Oliver was fine. But I still felt bad about getting him hurt in the first place.
"Wait where are you going?"Dakota asked phasing in front of him from the floorboards.
"Well since Oliver is Okay I'm going back home, the baby is supposed to say its first words soon and I wanna be there when he says them," Davenport said running through Dakota and towards the elevator.
"Is it sad that he wasn't that happy when we were babies?"Bree asked.
"Yeah," Dakota and Bree said in unison.
