Part 2

The Light in the Dark

“Grraaahhhh,” the undead mutant stepped closer to the two heroes as Xephos got to his feet. Now over the initial shock, Honeydew equipped himself with his diamond pick attached to his belt, ready for serious swinging action. As he did so, Xephos drew his surprisingly spotless diamond sword from his leather sheath on his back. They stood in fighting stances ready to lunge at the rotten creature, the zombie just smiled evilly at them as he unveiled a weapon of his own.

Zombie Boss wielded an obsidian shovel but not just an ordinary shovel. The shovel was a circular shape and had extremely sharp, paper thin edges, great for digging holes, also for decapitating heads. Even with his great weapon of choice, he didn’t pull much of a fight with it. Xephos jumped up, lifted his sword above his head and swung at the zombie. He casually dodged his swing, looked at the two evilly again and ran off in the direction he had come in. Honeydew whipped on his helmet while Xephos hurriedly pulled on his coat, “We have to go after him,” said Xephos looking in the direction Zombie Boss had gone in.

“But what if….?”

“He might be heading to a portal or Israphel’s new castle!” He said cutting his friend off. “We must follow him,” and with that, Xephos turned and ran in the direction the zombie had gone. Honeydew dived in after the burnet, a bit curious of why Zombie Boss had just appeared like that. That’s not something Israphel or his minions would do without a purpose.

Now running side by side, the heroes were still hot on Zombie Bosses tail and soon sighted a hint of light in front of them. As they got closer Xephos hid behind a tree, “get down,” he whispered to his friend. As Honeydew ducked behind a bush Xephos peered around the cracked bark tree to see no movement, he looked at Honeydew and nodded to say it was safe. Coming out of their cover, they walked silently toward the light on high alert still armed with their weapons of choice. The two came to the edge of a small clearing with the source of the light slap bang in the middle of it.

Their eyes grew in astonishment as they glazed upon a portal, but it didn’t look like a nether portal. It was made out of some pale green stone and had a pasty blue centre for where you stood. The two walked around it, observing its every feature, “what type of portal is this?” Xephos questioned, “Some special kind that Israphel developed?” His friend was just as flabbergasted as he was and was too lost for words. “I…I don’t know, maybe we should go through it,”

“NO!” said Xephos alarmed putting an arm in front of his friend. “No, we don’t know what this is or what it does so we shouldn’t touch it until we get the others.”

The dwarf clipped his pick back to his belt and moved away from the portal “Fine,” he said with a sigh.

As Xephos continued searching in the foliage around the clearing for any signs of Zombie Boss and heard a rustling sound behind him. He was just about to grab his sword again when he was dealt a heavy blow to the head. Before he could turn to see his attacker his vision slowly blurred as he feel to the ground unconscious. “Xephos?” Honeydew called curiously after hearing the commotion fatally. “Xephos?” he called again a little louder. “Ssssssss,” Honeydew frozen dead on the spot like a statue after hearing the deadly sound. When he had enough guts he turned and looked up to see his old enemy in the tree above him. He went cold and had a face that screamed terrified all over, “Creepers can’t climb trees…” he whimpered as the reformed creeper jumped down for the tree and knocked him out cold.

Looking down at the unconscious dwarf, Creeper Boss hissed to himself in delight. He started punching and beating him more just for fun, knowing Zombie Boss would’ve done the same, he smiled greatly as he heard his leg crack broken. “Well done, well done indeed,” said the cold, evil toughed man as he walked up to Creeper Boss while looking down at the dwarf giving him no pity. “Massssster, what will you have usssss do with them,” hissed Creeper Boss grasping Honeydews lifeless, flimsy arm. Israphel thought to himself, as he did Zombie Boss returned dragging the spaceman like a rag doll. The zombie had obliviously taken advantage of the unconscious hero as well as Creeper Boss.  “Hmmm…we’ll dispose of them in the portal and leave it at that,” Israphel said with an evil smile, his eyes glowing crimson red. “As soon as these two are out of my way, the sooner we can begin taking back Minecraftia. The rest of their allies will be extremely vulnerable without their precious heroes,” he hissed spitting out the last words. “As you wish, master,” grumbled Zombie Boss looking from his pale faced master to the portal. The dark lord looked on at his minions as they threw his enemies over their shoulders and dumped them inside the portal. An evil smile grew on his face that soon became a laugh as the heroes started to fade into the portal. Creeper Boss turned looked toward some trees and hissed in the direction, three charged creepers revealed themselves and walked to the portal. “Sssss, we may want to clear out now,” he said to he partner and master who didn’t want to get his black suit ruined. As they walked away Israphel began to laugh poisonously again as the sound of explosions echoed through the forest. “Soon,” he started, “soon all of Minecraftia will bow before me.”

“Masssster, may I asssssk where is the portal is taking them?” asked Creeper Boss curiously, “to a place they have never gone before,” he replied before laughing again.
