I just want to say that I don't know about American school times but this school year starts in September. Also the are currently 17-18 years old because I don't know what school years you have!

3rd person POV

John was an interesting student. He was in his last year of high school and had hardly spoken a word. Most people in his class thought he was strange. Nobody ever talked to him.

Alex always sat in the corner of the class. Despite what others said, he had always taken an interest in that boy. Alex was never able to speak to him but he noticed everything about him.

He noticed the way he placed his equipment out in a certain way when he walked into class, how he would always nod before writing down notes but mostly, how he never locked eye contact with anyone. Always looking through them or somewhere else.

Alex had already had a year with him but has never been able to say a word to the boy. All he knew was soon it would be too late. He started skipping class and when he would go he would just disappear for the rest of the day.

Alex's POV

After he spent a week away from lessons, I knew that I would have to introduce myself and the next opportunity. He was in my last lesson of the day so I caught up with him after class and met him by the fountain.

Once I was standing beside him, he was already staring off into the sky. Silence filled the faded courtyard. Even though he wasn't looking at me, I could tell that I had been noticed; he had his head slightly tilted towards me.

"Hello," I tried to sound confident but as soon as our eyes met I regretted it. "I- I'm Alan Hamlin HAMILTON! Alex but you can call me Ander." Well that went downhill.

He was just staring at me confused. Slowly, he began to walk away. Of course I let him walk; I had completely messed up. Carefully I let our a sigh, making sure that nobody heard me.

John's POV

Why did that person approach me? Obviously he didn't know who I was. Nobody cares about me at all. People didn't even know what I was or why I stayed away.

There were only four days left.

I wish I had time. I know that I won't have enough time. I won't be able to find them and die alone. Four days. How long would I survive after that.

My school life was as bad as it had always been. My grades are good but the people are always the same. Except Alan-Hamlin-Hamilton-Ander. He talked to me. I know it wasn't much but he tried.

He was something.

Short chapter. Oh well, I'm hoping that I can write longer chapters in the future! Also, if anyone has any suggestions make sure to leave a comment~ I would love to hear what you want to read!
