Marcus's POV
"Hurry up! Were gonna miss it!"
The boys started running.I pointed to it.There was a big crowd circling around people who looked they were dancing.
"C'mon, were gonna miss it!" I yelled at them.I tried to look through the crowd. It was a dance competition and me and the boys wanted in on it.
"Oh shit!" D'Andre said."Let's go!"
We ran up to the crowd and pushed through it.When we were in the middle of the circle, I was pushed into another person.
"The hell...." I yelled before I turned around to see who I was pushed into.It was a boy with mini dreads in his hair.Right next to him was a girl with thin, straight, black hair. She looked at me up and down before backing up slowly.
I raised my eyebrows at her.Why she look at me like that.I studied her, but not in a perverted kind of way.She was really skinny! I could see her ribs through her shirt. She looked like she hasn't eaten in days. Her clothes were dirty like rags and she had a plastic bag in her left hand. From the outside it looked like the bag was full clothes. That's when I realized, she was homeless.
"Marcus, c'mon pay attention! We gotta win this!" Jason said to me, bringing me back to earth.I looked at him and nodded.
The boy with the dreads looked at us."Watch were yall going, aight! " He told us.We raised our eyebrows at him.
"You talking to us, bruh?" D'Andre said getting on his face. The boy pushed him into the crowd.
"You challenging me, nigga?" He asked D'Andre.
"Ayo, boys, let's show this nigga how we do it!" Jason said. We all nodded and started dancing.
