The Discussion

While Marinette and Adrien were having an evening stroll down the elegant streets of Paris, Alya and Nino spent the rest of the night doing homework; occasionally stopping to have discussions about their work and other things. They didn't have to be in each other's houses or even very close to each other in order to feel as though they were together. No one knew about their relationship because they kept it fairly secret. They didn't enjoy having a bunch of attention placed on themselves, even though Alya had the biggest Ladybug fan blog. She wanted her personal life to be separate from her online life. Nino just didn't want a lot of attention on his love life, knowing full well Chole would find some way to be horrible to both of them.

During one of their breaks Alya had pulled a chair up to the window and Nino had rolled his office chair to the window. They were talking about how they were going to tell Marinette and Adrien about their relationship.

"Okay, I love them both and they deserve our truth." Alya had said sitting down in her chair by the window with a cookie and a glass of water. She looked over where Nino must have been finishing up a sentence in the english paper he had began to write after their last break. They work on the same subject so if they need help they can just yell through the window and ask. He rolled over in his office chair after he put the pencil down.

"Yeah, I agree. Should we make this as obvious as possible? Or should we work it into a conversation using context clues of their relationship? Sorry, English homework." Nino had begun to sound like an english major in college. Alya laughed slightly and closed her eyes to think.

"We should probably just come out with it and tell them. Just when we get to school the next morning we go over to them and try to talk to them about this." She smiled when she said this. Nino made her really happy and while she didn't really want her relationship public, sharing it with the two other people that mean the world to her was just fair. Especially when she forced them to share their relationship with her.

"You're right. Do you want to get to school a little early tomorrow so we can wait for them? Maybe they are going to meet up early tomorrow too." Nino thought out loud. He liked to explore every option and ask everyone's opinions, hoping that at least one of them would be a good one.

"Yeah, let's go early tomorrow. Okay now break time is over, let's get back to work." She said with a smile looking at him apologetically. All she wanted was to talk to him but if they were going to get to school early the next morning she would need to finish her work early as well so she could get a good night of rest.

"Aww," he said with a joking smile as he rolled back to his desk to finish his english paper. She walked back over to her desk with her nearly finished glass of water. "Love you!" He called out without looking up from his work. Alya laughed and smiled back at him as she got back to work as well.

When they had finished their work they both went over to their windows, it had gone dark already, and they said their goodbyes and closed their windows and curtains. Alya began to get ready for bed and her stomach turned upside down with nervousness. She was going to share her month long relationship with her best friend tomorrow and frankly it's kind surprising that she had kept it a secret for so long. She couldn't wait to get to school tomorrow but she also didn't want Marinette to be mad at her. She couldn't stand when Marinette was mad at her and she feared that was the most predictable reaction of the many that were racing through her head as she lay in her dark room and comfortable bed.

The next morning Marinette was still reeling from her perfect night out with Adrien. They talked about anything and everything, shared a few soft kisses, and got to see the Eiffel tower light up while they were holding hands. She fell asleep so much happier than she ever had before and slept much better than she could have ever thought possible. She got up earlier than she normally does and decided to get to school. When she made her way through the kitchen to the front door she grabbed a cookie, which her family had plenty of due to her baker father, and left a small note cause her parents hadn't woken up yet. She began the short walk to school and all the way there she thought of how she and Adrien had walked these streets hand in hand that night. Her smile was radiating the whole way there.
