Nyce POV
I quickly cover my head as the thunder got louder. I hate thunder, it brings back bad memories. As a little girl, I would hide under then bed and cry. My dad died because of thunder of lighting.
I quickly jump of the bed, and started walking towards Derrick room. I wouldn't be able to fall asleep by myself.
A min after knocking, the door finally open to revile Derrick shirtless body. My eyes widen as I was lost for words staring at his stomach....
I quickly snap out of it. "I umm..I'm scared of thunder and lighting, umm can I please sl..sleep with you" the words came of a little too shaky. Instead of saying anything, Derrick stared at me in a weird way. "Umm never,never mind" I walked straight to my room.
I got on the bed and laid under the cover...crying. what did I expect huh ?.. for Derrick to welcome me with open arms.
Memories of how my dad died hunts me everytime there's lighting and thunder.
"Nyce" I jumped up and out of my skin. It was only Derrick "You was serious about being scared, don't cry....please" he sat on the side of my bed.... I sat up and wipe my face. "Um, my dad died, on a day like this, right when he got into his car, a lighting strike the car...and umm" I couldn't finish.
"You don't have to tell me....I'll sleep here with you " he gave me a smile smile.
Nothing was said after that. He held me close to him as we laid there in silence.
I would jump a little here and there, but he would say soothing words that eventually made me fall asleep.
"Wait...this your stomach" he kept on rubbing it and in a matter of seconds he was off the bed and the light was turned on "what are you doing" I sat up rubbing my eyes....Right when I was about to fall asleep he wanna turn the light on.
He came and sat next to me then started rubbing my stomach, and after a while he put his head on my stomach. "What are you.." he cut me off with his hand over my lips.
For the first time I felt a kick in my stomach..from the baby.. "The baby just kicked for the first time" I smiled
Next morning
Derrick POV
I've never slept so good. I had a great night. I slept like a baby, more than 8 hours of sleep. Then I realized somebody was sleeping next to me. Nyce. She looks so peaceful.
Without looking I grab my phone from the night stand to look at the time."shit". It just came out out my mouth, it's 10pm already. "What time is it" Nyce ask in her sleepy voice "I um,....10:17" "shit" she quickly got of the bed and ran straight to the bathroom. She probably late to something. I was too comfortable to get up, she couldn't kick,kick me out, after all, this is my house.
"Um Ricky can you please bring me my towel" she half open the door looking out.. I know o told her about those nick names. I got up, took her towel and brought it to her. I went and sat back down on the bed. She finally came out, dried up. Once she had underwear on, the towel dropped. For some reason my heart started beating fast. Very fast. I tried to look away but I just couldn't. I really couldn't.
"Um, where you going" I finally manage to say something "I got an appointment, for a check up, blah,blah" she shrug her shoulders "Ummm, can I go please" I nervously ask "nope" is what she answered. Nobody have ever told me no, other than my mother of course.
Wait, this is my child too
"Man I'm going, that's my child too " I'm starting to get upset. "Oh now it's your child huh" she replied shaking her head. Now I understand. I got up and went to her. "Okay I'm sorr..sorr........I'm sorry, yea I'm sorry nyce, I want to make things right and okay between us for the baby, and I am sorry for how I treated you in the beginning, I also want to apologize for putting my hands on you, I just thought you was really trying my set, like you want to ruin my life and take all my money and stuff like that but that's not an excuse for doing that. Please I want to go to your appointments starting today.please" Wow, I've never apologize to anyone, other than my mother of course, this the longest. "I know you not gon go to the hospital looking like shit, now are you" she gave me a small smile and went to fix the bed. I ran out her room and into mines. I broke the record of faster shower there is. In ten minutes I was done.
The car ride is a bit silence but a good one. Then miss it by Yung bleu came on. The both of us was singing along to it.
Nyce POV
"Looks like you haven't been eating much, why is that ? " joy asked "Don't worry,after this we going shopping, you see my girl here only eat sandwiches back to back thinking it'll do something for her" Derrick answered before i got a chance to say anything. I was only to give a small smile. All joy did was nod her head.
3 hours later
We have two shopping cart full of stuff to eat and cook. He was not playing when he said we was going shopping after. The amount add up to be 476.13, but he did not care well because we went to the fruit store and brought fruits that amount up to 198.67.
We then went out to get lunch. I was force to get more than I can eat.
Finally we at the house and i couldn't be more than happy. "Umm..some of the guys coming over, its game night..." Derrick started scratching the back of his neck "ohh um I'll go watch tv upstairs" I got up ready to walk upstairs. "Wait no, thats not what i mean, i was wondering, can you make dinner, if you can cook, or we'll just order in" he just tried my face "you think i can't cook, how dare you, How dare you" I turned around giving him my back fake crying "No i did not mean to offend you nyce" he grab me. I bust out laughing laughing, you should have seen his face, priceless. "I'll do it in one condition, you tell them i am nit your damn maid" with that i walked away and into my room to change
