I sit in the corner of the cell room examining the bloody hand prints that surround me. Chills follow down my back as I read each of the sentences in my head. I need to get out. My throat is soar, and my head is pounding. Slowly, my legs gain blood and oxygen back, and start walking toward the cell's door. Daniel followed.
The air out of the cell was cool and moist. My lungs inflated and deflated. The feeling was amazing.
"You okay?" Daniel asked rubbing my shoulder.
I do not know what to say. For once, death seems to be impossible. My pain is horrible. Death: 'the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of the life of a person or organism,' says Google. Death to me is freedom. It is the end of everything already. I can't have an end. Not now, not tomorrow, not ever. I've tried and tried, but nothing has worked.
War. It is what everyone wants. Divergent, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight, Percy Jackson, and The Fault in Our Stars. All the stories have a war. It may be mental or physical, but it is there somewhere. It binds people. It kills people. War: 'a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state,' says Google.
"I'm fine," I say looking at my shoes. Their black combat boots. Nothing special, but somehow they mean everything to me.
"What if we die?" He whispers into my ear. The word "die" coming from his mouth made me dizzy. Die, death, dying, dead. Are they all the same? It is a simple question that no one can answer. Besides the tense, they mean the same.
I lifted my head to look at the wall. The outside hallway wall was green. It is a happy color, that makes me smile.
"What?" He saw me smile.
"The color." I pointed at the wall.
"Green?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
I searched for an answer besides my happiness. The color green is... Daniel's eye color. Perfect.
"Your eyes are green."
Daniel chuckles and blushes ever so slightly.
Marry came our of the cell with her backpack on, and a black streak of paint lining from her eyes to her chin. Her blue have never stood out before like this. Josh apparently saw the new color of Marry too, because for once he was speechless.
"I'll go get my bag," I said punching Marry in the arm.
"Can you get mine too!?" Daniel asked.
"NO!"
I heard him laugh, then run in behind me. Before he grabbed his bag, I took his wrist and slammed him into the wall. A smile drew across his face as he charged for me. I quickly grabbed my bag, ducked under his arm, and ran for the door. Daniel is quick. He rushed over and pulled me down so he was on top of me. We both gulped and rushed out of the awkward position.
"Hurry up love birds!" Kyle yelled while pointing to his watch.
Both me and Daniel blushed and hurried out.
"Where to?" I choked out.
"Um..." Marry bit her lip while looking at the map infront of her, "ah, here. The fly is about three days, and located near Orlando, Florida."
"THREE DAYS!" We all yelled insink.
"Knowin' these idiots, yes!" She pointed to Kyle, Josh, Daniel, and Robert who was too quiet for comfort.
"How long will it be if it was just us?" I asked.
"Probably an hour."
Everyone exhelled. "But we can't sleep here tonight." Marry pointed out.
She was right. If a demon or angel finds out that we knocked out the desk holder and used demon blood on monsters, we'd be put into torture chambers for life.
"Oh, yeah, then where we sleepin'?" Robert asked spitting gum onto my shoe. I glared at him before punching his face. I kicked his leg backwards and tackled his shoulder trying to break every bone I could. Marry started bursting out laughing when Robert howled like a dog when his femur cracked. I smirked. I know it will heal soon. His bones are stronger then the rest of ours. It is one of his many "special" talents.
"We are sleeping in the woods again you stupid head!" Marry and Josh answered together. Demons do not curse. We leave that to the monsters. If we did everything they do, what is the difference between us besides diet.
"Take a chill pill!" Robert yelped as he stood up staggering. His bones are probably already mending together by now.
"I don't chill!" I snapped.
"Well I'll show you how to chill," he said winking. Daniel fists balled up in a fists'. I could see the anger in his eyes. And he pounced. Just like me, he broke Robert's other femur. He howled as Daniel kicked his face into the wall.
"Told you it'd take threw days," Marry said like a "told you so" comment. Kyle laughed.
"Shut up!" Marry yelled, "Look we need to leave, or we'll be found okay?"
Daniel stopped kicking Robert and went to stand by me. Robert's blood could fill an entire kiddy pool. Nevertheless his bones mended and scars healed. Demon and angel skin is usually never bruised.

We found a tall tree to sleep in after flying back through the clouds to the forest. I checked my food source, as my stomach growled. Daniel heard my stomach and passed me a cookie. It wasn't just any cookie, it was a crumbled cookie in a zip lock bag. It had a peice of hair in one of the chocolate chips. I looked through Daniel's mind to find this was the exact cookie I gave him the time we met up at the Room. A smile drew across my face. Marry looked at me like I was crazy, which her thoughts were loud with concussion, while eating an apple.
"Here," I gave the bag back to Daniel.
"But..." I stopped him, "I want you to have it. And it was order not a question so, HERE!"
Daniel rolled his eyes and took the bag back and stuffed it into his bag. I took out my own apple and bit into it. The flavor bursted into my mouth making me close my eyes and enjoy the taste. It did not last long as I swallowed and took another bite. It was a lie. Death. Death is why we have to live. So, when death greats me, I will know I have lived. But hasn't yet, because I haven't finished living my life to the fullest. Death intimidates people by just the audio of it. I need to live to the fullest, so I can die knowing I lived.
