Part 7 | One Step Forward |

This part might be a little...slow!

Lance and Keith walked the beach with clusters of shells piled in their arms, the sun lifted up higher into the sky slowly causing it to turn a beautiful mixture of pink, orange, purple and blue. The boys chatted and laughed over silly topics, like they were best friends, like they had no cares in the world.
"Hey look a crab!" Keith whisper shouted
" Dare you to pick it up!" Lance said quietly
"You do it!" Keith whispered loudly
"No you do it!" Lance said
"Look at it's betty little eyes!" Keith said excitedly
"Oh my gosh, it's like it' looking directly into my soul!" Lance said amused
" Omg your right, it totally is!" Keith said

They boys played around with the crab and gave it a cute name of Simba. They let the crab go and wondered the rest of the beach for as far as they could go, playing around with washed up kelp and seaweed.

Lance and Keith walked back to camp only to find everyone was up.

"There you guys are!" Said Pidge
"Lance and Keeith sittin in a tree!" taunted Allura
"Shut up" Lance said playfully
"What were you to doing up at 5am?" Asked Shiro
"Couldn't sleep" Keith said
"And I just always get up early" Lance said.
"Understandable!" Hunk smiled

Lance walked into his tent to get changed, then came out and sat by the fire pit. He stared at the wave crawling onto the shore, in and out. He timed his breathes with the waves.

Noon came along like that and Lance took another walk on the beach, this time in the other direction. He spotted something in the distance hanging from a tree. Lance made his way over to the object in the tree, he was surprised to see a rope swing. He ran back as if on a morning jog to camp. When he arrived everyone was doing their own thing.

" Hey guess what just found!" Lance said
"What!?" Allura said sounding interested but no enough to look up from her book
"A rope swing!" Lance said sounding proud
" I wanna see!" Said Shiro
" anybody else want to come?" Lance asked

Lance walked with Shiro to the rope swing.
When they arrived at the spot Shiro immediately climbed on and started to swing.
"It's stable!" Shiro said in amazement
"Ya I thought it would be" Lance said.

This swing reminded Shiro of his childhood. When he was 10 or so he moved to a house by a lake,the houses backyard backed out onto the lake and there hanging from the tree was a rope swing. He would spend hours swinging and jumping into the water.

Lance and Shiro stayed for about an hour just swinging and talking, then headed back to camp.

Lance climbed back into his tent to grab another magazine and took it out. He laid out a blanket and sat down to read and fill out horoscope questions.

"You wanna go play soccer with us Lance?" Asked Coran
"Um, Sure I guess" Lance replied

Lance he gad been put on a teem with Allura and Keith.The other team was everybody else!

Keith- Pass The Ball!
*kick, Goal!
Lance, Keith and Alluras team won by 3 points with a score of 8-5

Soon it was beginning to get dark out. Lance walked over to the swing and sat down to think.

Lances Thoughts
It was weird getting up and not doing something for my siblings, maybe I should just try and relax. Speaking of relax, Keith looked not so on edge this morning! Maybe he is finally warming up to hanging around others that aren't his family or Shiro.
I totally caught him staring at my butt during the soccer game, I Turned around and smiled, his face dusted red and ran up "field".
In my heart I kind of always had a thing for Keith, it's hard to admit but it's true! I don't know what it is about him.
