Chapter 6

Snow's POV

"Gerald! Where are you from? Did you date and flirt with another girl again?!" I adjusted the volume in my headphones to block everything including my parents' loud voices.

"I didn't date nor flirt with girls, I'm working for Pete's sake!" Dad raised his voice.

"Working? But I just saw you hours ago in the bar with your beloved secretary, it's obvious that you're flirting. I also heard your laughs. That Jamaica is really a bitch, what a fl---" mom was cut off by a loud slap.

"Don't you dare call her a bitch! You know she's better than you!" Dad yelled angrily, I think that my eardrums will break.

I opened the door noisily. I headed to our living room where the two are arguing. I also saw Tyler in the dining room eating, not minding our parents.

"Can you please stop?" I said calmly, but deep inside, I'm screaming and crying,  wishing that this will end. I caught their attention, even Tyler. I glanced at mom who's sobbing while holding her right, swollen cheek. 

"Kenzie." Dad said in a warning tone but I didn't looked at him even a glimpse, fudge.

I just continued what I'm about to say, "I'm tired, I'm tired of your noises, I can't take it anymore." I said, letting out all my emotions from my heart. Before they could utter any word, I ran towards the door.

I ran to an empty lot, not too far from our house- well, I couldn't call it home.
I sat on a long wood there.

"Oh! I forgot my phone!" I complained then frowned. I don't know whether I'll go back or not but I chose to stay.

I remembered the fight earlier, surprising? A happy go lucky like me also have a broken family. Ironic right?

I hummed a song, I do this always to ease the pain growing in my heart. Music is my best buddy. Music is my escape from reality.
Seconds later, I heard some footsteps, I felt a presence near me, I turned my head and saw a pair of green eyes looking at me intently.
"What are you doing here?" I asked looking down, almost whispering.
"Nothing" he replied, shrugging his masculine shoulders.

"Okay." I answered turning my head in front again and continued to hum even if his presence is bothering me.

But I was surprised when he sat on the empty space beside me, because of that, the log rolled a bit.
His hands found my hair and played with them, I let him since it felt so good.

"Aww" I yawned, I'm getting sleepy.

"Can I ask something from you?" He asked sincerely, giving me a genuine smile he stopped plaing with my hair.

"What?" I responded. Curious of what he wants.

"Can you sing for me?" I was taken aback on what I just heard. Umm, sing? No way!
He probably saw my reaction, he sighed.

"Please...." He requested. Shit! I can't say no, those eyes are looking at me pleadingly, can't say no to cute things! This is bad!

I breathed heavily and started to sing.

 " You were the shadow to my light
Did you feel us?
Another star

Afraid our aim is out of sight

I sang the first paragraph, his eyes are starting to close, his grip to my hand becomes tighter that it won't let me go.

I continue to sing since I felt to.

"Where are you now?

But what surprised me is he's already sleeping soundly while his head is on my shoulder............

I touched his face. remembering every trace of it. 

"I wish to stop the time, just you and me, like this." I whispered on his ear, hoping that he could hear it. I intertwined our hands and stare at it.

But too bad.... I didn't realize that this will be the last.

"I'm faded.."
