TATE ABBOTT WAS MANY THINGS. She was dauntless, her phobias were nonexistent; it didn't matter how big the spider in her bedroom was or how high the airplane flew, not even the fact that Scott McCall is a werewolf - she didn't shift her feet. Tate wore her humanity like a crown on top of her fiery ginger locks and didn't hesitate in putting the unwelcome and somewhat dangerous visitors of Beacon Hills in their place with her sharp tongue or a little something extra from Deaton.
She's strong, tough but the one thing she lacks is fearlessness because how can you not be afraid of anything when the thing that scares you most is unrequited love.
Stiles Stilinski has a well-known problem of being (a) crushing head over heels on Lydia Martin and (b) being completely oblivious to Tate, a girl who is literally standing in front of him. From meeting in a sandbox in kindergarten to copying each other's chemistry notes after lessons of not paying the slightest attention to the new found activity of taking turns in chaining their best friend up to his radiator.
It isn't until Stiles realizes five years too late how much he really does mean to Tate because her problems have spread to a whole different world starting with the discovery of a bite mark on her shoulder and the fact that Scott isn't the most extraordinary person she knows.
