Today is the trial for Alexis's murder. This statement is from the observer reporter, "A 19-year-old conspirator in a city shooting that claimed the life of a woman who was the same age was sentenced to 8 1/2 to 20 years in prison Friday.
Jamaal Greene pleaded guilty in May to conspiracy to commit homicide in the shooting death of Alexis Barnett on May 4, 2016, while she was walking with friends on Maple Avenuie.
Judge Gary Gilman handed down the sentence – which both sides' attorneys recommended – during a hearing at which several of Barnett's family members spoke.
